Birthday Wishes

Yesterday was daughter R's birthday.  I made her a card complete with a picture of her as a baby on the front and the following sentiment inside--we have tried to make humor a huge part of raising our daughters!  Enjoy!

It's been 22 years since you were welcomed into this CRAZY wonderfully delightful mental institution family and Dad and I have totally enjoyed being your ridiculous as hell kind and compassionate parents. I'm sure that growing up with this weird magnificent bunch of idiots loving people has been the most senseless fun and interesting thing that's ever happened to you. And you've probably wanted to shoot learned something from everyone during the years of your seeming incarceration within this family unit. From your dad you learned how to be as slow as molasses very methodical. From me you learned how to pull your hair out and scream manage a large family in a loving manner. From your sisters you learned that you wanted to be an only child how to have great patience and sincerity. You must ask yourself every day, "What did I ever do to deserve this?" "How did I get so darn lucky?"  Well, WE are the LUCKY ones!"

Happy Birthday!
