HOP

Looking for a way to make Monday more enjoyable?  Hop on over to Java's Meet Me On Monday at Never Growing Old and join in some much needed Monday fun!

Questions:

1.  Do you have a fireplace in your home?  Yes we do!  I love a fireplace.  In fact, I insist on one!  How else will Santa be able to get in on Christmas Eve?  Plus, I so enjoy sitting in front of a fire with a glass of Bailey's Irish Creme, some classical music and a good book.  Sooooo relaxing.  And there might have been a time or two that Hubs and I have enjoyed some time together in front of our fireplace.  Years ago, however, I suddenly became allergic to the smoke from the fires.  Now, I'm just waiting on my coveted gas logs that Hubs has yet to get for me.  Remember, he's as slow as molasses very methodical in all he does.

2.  Can you drive a stick shift?  Indeed, I can.  But I HATE doing it when I catch a red light at the top of a hill.  Holy Crap!  That is not a good situation for me to be in while driving a stick!  Can you say, 'I'm so sorry that I rolled into your car lady?'

3.  How many computers are in your home?  Two laptops.  Unless the kids are home- each one has his/her own laptop so, if all four daughters are here and BestSonInLawEVER, there are 7 laptops in the house.

4.  Are your taxes done yet?  Do you do them yourself? Indeed they are.  Heavens NO!  We have a wonderful friend who ROCKS at doing taxes and she does them for us every single year!  I wouldn't attempt to do our taxes if my life depended on it!  Because I would be like the gal in the cartoon below and then in jail because I DON'T KNOW HOW TO DO STINKING TAXES!  Nor do I wish to learn.

5.  What is your favorite meal of the day? Supper.  It's the one meal that I spend the most time preparing and the one that I get to eat with another human.  Tucker eats breakfast and lunch with me!  Hubs is home for supper.  Plus, every Wednesday, our college lovelies come home for supper and bring their roomies!

This is the 14th day of NaBloPoMo (National Blog Posting Month) for the month of March. The theme for this month is: in a word! My chosen word for today is:  HOP--for obvious reasons!

  2. I learned to drive with a manual transmission. Most people now-a-days have no idea. And your 'description' of being stopped on a hill made me LOL...literally!! It also reminds me of Bill Cosby's comedy routine where he's driving in San Francisco and their hilly roads and streets...it's just too funny. I still laugh at it.

  4. Great answers to the questions. Good questions too. I especially like the "waiting on hubby for gas log fireplace" part. hahaha

  5. I didn't think of it until I read your answers but supper is the only meal I eat with another human also!! I eat breakfast in the car on the way to work - lunch is at my desk.

Question for you though....is it the fire that's so relaxing or the Bailey's Irish Creme ;-)

  17. Ha ha! What is it with men? They are ALL as slow as molasses!

I have only have had cars with a stick shift. It's a European thing. And I have a motorbike license and changing gear on those things is WAY more complicated. Look at me being all smug *wink*

  18. Annie-I'd be smug too if I drove a motorbike around! You go girl! LOL

  19. I love having a fireplace and a mantel to decorate but we don't use it often. Yes, stick shift cars just don't do well in CA! I do know how to drive one. Taxes are not done yet but my husband does them. Hope you have a great week.

  20. I love that you all get together on Wednesdays. I hope when Mike is out and about we can do something like that too.
Thanks for sharing my friend. Have a blessed evening.

  21. I had the same thought when we were asked if we have a fireplace. How would Santa get in if we didn't ;)

  22. Hello twin! I always live reading your responses so I can say 'yes me too' but today oh no! I had say I differed on one response - I am so bad at 'changing gear' stick shift) I crunch the gears and never know which one I should be in....I have an automatic car now as Hubby couldn't stand the pain of listening to me messing up each time.
I also wanted to tell you that the last comment you left for me was 'a corker' (brilliant) I shall definitely come and visit you one day in the near future...you wouldn't want 'son' though, trust me, he's best left to girlfiriend to deal with.
Just catchcing up here on your posts as I've been on a short lead since we got home and have had to do household things instead of being online..grr to Hubby. I promised I'd bake him a cake today so I earned myself an hour to check out my friends.
    xx
