Silence

This is day 11 of NaBloPoMo for the month of March.  Our theme this month is:  in a word.  The prompt for today is not SILENCE but I have chosen it for Japan.  I keep thinking about all those parents who are separated from their children due to the devastation.  Imagine how awful it must be to not know how your child(ren) or other family members fared through this disaster.  At the very least, I can offer a moment of silence on their behalf.

I am linking this with Java's Follow Friday 40 and Over at Never Growing Old.

  1. I guess I really need to turn the news on. Everyone is blogging about Japan and I haven't heard anything about it. It sounds devastating...

  4. Excellent idea for the moment of silence for all the people in Japan (and it's spreading by the look of it) affected by the tsunami. It's just too terrible to contemplate, isn't it. Thank the Lord that all our families and friends are safe.

  7. Hi Pam,
Just popped by to say hello, Tom is coming home tonight for the weekend, he has had a week of exams but has passed this first stage of his course so we are all pleased. We didn't have pancakes on Tuesday (I told Ken they were not good for him!!) so as Tom is home pancake day will be tomorrow now!
Hope you have a lovely weekend

  9. I'm not a news watcher so today daddy told me about it so I have been doing a lot of reading tonight. It is horrible the fear these people are feeling. I can't imagine. All I can do is offer my prayers so tonight I will be sure they are top on the list.
Take care Pam and have a blessed weekend.

  10. With such horrible devastation, the one piece of good news coming out of Japan was finding the Ferry with the 80+ alive.

  11. Thank y'all so much for stopping by and commenting. I'm a true believer in prayer- and I know that all the prayers offered by people all over were heard. I had to turn off the news this afternoon because it was just getting to be too much- I cry over commercials about mistreated animals and abused children so trying to follow the devastation in Japan was a cry FEST. The people of Japan will continue to be in my prayers as I'm sure they will be in y'alls. And hopefully there will be more good news like the bit that Shawn mentioned!
