Weight

Wednesday Words of Weight Loss- the HOP

Patrice, at Everyday Ruralty, hosts Wednesday Words of Weight Loss every Wednesday!  It's a fun HOP that offers encouragement and company on the issue of weight.  Come on, this is your week to join in the FUN!

1. Do you ever buy clothes in the size you hope to wear after weight loss?  No.  I know myself well enough to realize that I will see this as sabotage and definitely NOT lose any more weight.  What I mean is, I don't fall for incentives like that.

2. Is there a color of clothing that makes you feel good when you wear it? What is it? I wear a lot of black.  And I did when I was thin as well so it's not just thinking that black makes me appear thinner.  I just prefer black.  Once in a while I might wear a white shirt or one with color but mostly, I just wear black.  I feel comfortable in black and I feel that it makes me more of the background than the forefront.  That's where I like to be--in the background....observing as opposed to being observed.

3. Do you keep up your fluid intake? I drink green tea all day long.  I go through one half gallon to one gallon every day.  I sweeten it with Splenda and drink it on ice with lemon.  OMG it's DEEEE-LICIOUS!

4. Have you tried Stevia? Would you like to? (If you answered yes to wanting to try it, I will give you 1 entry into my NuNaturals giveaway that ends Friday. To get more entries click here.I don't remember if it's one of the ones I tried but didn't like or if it's the one I haven't tried yet.  But, yes, I'm willing to try it and I did enter the giveaway.

5. Can you do something this week that will make you make you smile, relax, or feel pampered?  This week my dad and step-mom are coming down to celebrate his birthday so we are giving him the last oyster roast until December rolls around.  Plus, my brother, T, is going to be here and he's just the absolute greatest brother in the whole entire world!  (No offense to the other two brothers).  Anyway, this will definitely make me smile and feel relaxed!

That's my dad in blue, at the last Oyster roast.

Today is the 9th day of NaBloPoMo (National Blog Posting Month) for the month of March.  Our theme for the month is: in a word.  I am using the word 'weight' today so that I can participate in Patrice's HOP!

  1. Let's see... yesterday I had a bite of Brett's fried cheesecake, a cheese quesadilla, a bowl of gumbo and a birthday cake cookie.

There is no health food at the rodeo.

I think I chose to visit here on the wrong day.

You gotta love the rodeo food if nothing else.

  3. Michelle- If I was honest then I would have to admit I'd rather be at the rodeo eating all that YUMMY food rather than blah food!

  4. I also like to wear black. It's classy and it does make you look thinner.

I could drink green tea all day too!

I hope you have a great time with your dad.

    Have a good week!

  5. I treated myself yesterday. A dear friend from high school drove up and we spent the day together. We found each other on Facebook a couple of years ago and it was like all the years disappeared. It's been wonderful!

I'm going to throw cold water on your wearing of black. Too much of my wardrobe is black, too. Then I read that as we age (those dreaded words) wearing black near our faces draws attention to the shadows, etc. I still wear black, but try to throw a bit of color in with a colorful scarf or necklace.

  6. I think I'm going to hop over and check out the WWoWL and just see what that is all about.
I love your answers. I'm not much for black except my exercise clothes are but that because I only own black stretch pants and jeans.
Stevia I haven't tried, I did the generic splenda type. It wasn't terrible.
I'm to cheap to buy clothes I can't wear now so no since in planning ahead when ahead just might not happen (except I did buy a pair of 12's for .50 the other day just to see if I could fit into them....nope, nade just got into 14's).
Take care Pam and have a blessed day.

  7. Patrice- Thanks! I can't wait for them to get here- they are such fun to be around!

Beverly-Oh, really? Wow, hadn't thought of that. Will have to wear more colors up top!

Julie- If I could get into a size 14, I'd be thrilled...heck, if I could get into a pair of jeans...LOL

  8. I like this blog hop. Interesting questions. Stevia is a sweetener that is made in our country. Maybe it´s even imported to the US from here.
I don´t buy smaller clothes as incentives either.

  10. I wear black all the time also!!! Not because I think it makes me look thinner (but goodness I hope that's true) but I'm just comfortable in it. I'm pretty sure I own every configuration of black patterned fabric there is.

  11. Donna- I know! The thin part is a perk! LOL

  12. Debby- We thought we were finished with them but Dad LOVES them so much (and we love him so much) so we are having one for his birthday!

  13. It's nice to learn I'm not the only one who drinks a gallon green tea in a day. They say it's a fat burner, but I just like the taste.

  14. I hope you've had an encouraging day. One rule I'm trying to follow is to never eat a sugar without a protein. It messes with my blood sugar too much. And now comes evening, the hardest part of the day. I'll try to keep my hands busy knitting so they don't wander into the chocolate chip jar.

  15. Kara- It's the same with me--I love it!

Judy- Evening is difficult. I'm sitting here trying not to reach into the M&Ms dish...who brought those darn things into the house anyway? LOL

  16. I like black as well...and this is quite inspirational...especially since I've been trying to lose some weight myself...

  17. I used to wear black till I found out that as you get older, it makes you look even older, so now I balance it with other colors. I love summer colors, orange, yellow, pink is my favorite. Gotta try that Stevia. I think I'm going to steal your post today, it's really cool.

  18. Wow...you and me both on the green tea [tho I don't sweeten mine] and wearing a lot of black.

As for the buying of clothes to be an incentive to loose weight, I too would think I'm trying to sabotage myself and fight back with reverse psychology and eat MORE just to prove myself. LOLOL

    Zip a dee doo dah

My oh my have a WONDERFUL DAY!!

  19. Caterpillar- You should join us on Wednesdays for the HOP!

Alessandra- I have just heard that about black from another comment on this post--will have to rethink my wardrobe. At least the tops.

Anni- I started today cutting down on the Splenda. I hope to wean myself off the sweet part--but, being southern, this will not be an easy task.

  20. Hi, Pam
Black is a great color, goes with every and anything. You're on your way to weighing less-keep at it, you can do it!
I wrote a post and tried to link up, but it wouldn't let me. What's up with that? Will try again next week. blessings, k
