Hump Day HOPS!

HUMP DAY has arrived! It's time for the HOPS!

1. How many students were in your high school graduating class? Did you know most, if not all of them? Just a couple hundred or so I think. Yeah, I knew them. I didn't like them then. Don't care for them now. I went to school with a bunch of narrow-minded, bigoted idiots who acted like they were all raised in barns.

2. What was the last thing you photographed? Tucker and Strider chasing squirrels.

3. Pickles-love 'em or loathe 'em? If its love what's something you eat that needs a pickle? I can take them or leave them. Birdie, on the other hand, will steal pickles right off your plate!

4. What's a stereotype you seem to perpetuate without meaning to? I have tried to be very aware of stereotyping since my college years- with degrees in sociology and psychology my exposure to the dangers of stereotyping were pounded into my head. Pretty sure that if I do perpetuate any stereotypes, it's gender related. LOL

5. Ever been horse back riding? If so is it something you enjoy? If not, do you have any interest? Did you watch the Kentucky Derby? Will you be watching the last leg of the Triple Crown this weekend? I used to ride when I was a kid and I loved it! But I don't watch the Derby and I won't be watching the triple crown this weekend. Hey, it's not football. ;)

6. What's your favorite 'wedding' movie?I actually have several but my all time favorite is Father of the Bride- Spencer Tracy or Steve Martin- it matters not, I love them both!

7. What is one 'tourist attraction' in the USA that you'd like to see in person? I've pretty much seen the things I've wanted to see over the years. But I've never been to Maine or Alaska and I've always wanted to. Not sure what tourist attractions they have there but I'd give just about anything to live in a cottage on the coast in Maine and see the Aurora Borealis in Alaska.

8. Insert your own random thought here. It's so good to have Birdie home! Until she headed out the door to NC. That's right, she left me again. She's the head trainer at the Ralph Lundy soccer camp up there this summer. Which is great but, dang! We just got her home! :)

Found out that the husband's nephew and his sweetasallgetout wife are expecting! New family member to arrive December 10-give or take.

DoodleBug nannies in the summer months. One of her charges is an adorable little girl named Petula. I LOVE that name--hinthint to any of the lovelies who might be interested in providing a grandchild before I die.

It's time to get your chat on with Wendell the Wonder, um...I mean with Patrice! At Everyday Ruralty!
  1. If you wear a hat, what kind is it mostly likely to be? A big floppy hat in the garden. But mostly I don't wear one at all because I hate it when my head sweats under there.
  2. Do you wear perfume or cologne (ever)? That's a big NEVER EVER. I'm allergic to most-the instant I smell it, I taste it and then  I get a headache.
  3. What's your favorite snack while watching movies or television? I try not to snack while watching tv or a movie but, when I do, I try to do gluten free pretzels or my homemade trail mix. I used to absolutely LOVE buttered popcorn at the movies though. Dang that stuff was good!
  4. What's the last gift you purchased or made? Can't tell you that right now- she reads my blog and would probably figure it out!
  5. Please finish this sentence. Before summer is over I hope I've lost at least 60 pounds.
Have a fantastic day y'all!

  1. Sometimes these hops are fun to read you learn so much about the blogger,in a different way from their writings.

Good Luck with your weight loss goal, I am so hoping you get there!!!

  2. Fun movie choice - I am sad that they almost ruined the original by producing such terrible squeals.

  3. I highly recommend a trip to Maine. I think Acadia National Park might be one of the most beautiful places on earth.

  4. Lucy-True. Thanks, I hope so too. I'm wondering if it's a bit lofty though.

Wayne- I love the original and the sequels! I just watched the Spencer Tracy one last week. Only for the 500th time though. LOL

Joyce- I really want to go! If I ever get there, I'll check out the park!

  5. I love the name Petula, too, but I was a big fan of Petula Clark when I was a kid.
Last night I was watching Places in the Heart, the old movie with Sally Field (although old is an adjective that hurts my heart because it feels like it just came out last week) and her daughter's name in the movie is Possum. I LOVE THAT. I asked my husband, will you call me Possum now?

  6. Cathy- And is he calling you Possum? LOL I love that movie too. I also remember Petula Clark. When DoodleBug told me the little girl's name I said, "I've haven't heard that name since I was a little kid and listened to Petula Clark." She wanted to know who Petula Clark was. Kids. Sheesh. :)

  7. Really strong perfume tends to give me a headache too.

  8. You would love Maine. I do! The lighthouses are my favorite thing to see, but the rocky shoreline is awesome as well.

Smile the weekend is coming! =D

  9. MKM- It's terrible to walk into a department store at the cosmetic entrance!

Cathy- I would LOVE to visit there. We have a couple of lighthouses in our area but I still want to go to Maine. And live there. On that rocky coast. HEY! Maybe in a lighthouse! :)

  10. You know that's not a nice thing to say about barns. I've known some pretty nice animals raised in barns - and some pretty disgusting people! lol

Keep photographing Tucker. He's such a cutie!

  11. Judy- It's the disgusting people that bother me, not the animals. LOL You're too funny! Tucker says, "Thanks!"

  12. I enjoyed reading your answers to both hops today.

Sounds like Birdie got a good opportunity, sorry she's gone again, though!

Petula Clark is the only Petula I've heard of...until now.

  13. Kathy- Thanks! She works these camps every summer but this is her first year as head trainer so she's really excited. Me too on the Petula! You should see her- so cute...Shirley Temple curls all over her head!

  14. awww i love that name too--hope you get that grand-child soon!

  15. I have seen and enjoyed the Spencer Tracy version of Father of the Bride. Homemade trail mix sounds wonderful for movies!

  16. Hi Pam! Just an fyi - Mom has a computer virus, so if you get any emails from her, don't open them. We're working on getting it fixed soon!
    -Amanda (Patrice's daughter :D)

  17. I like the new look! I haven't been around much in the blog world so I don't know how new it is, but I really like it :)

  18. Interesting answers...loosing 60 pounds? Isn't that a little too much?....:)JP

  19. LP- Isn't it the cutest?! I hope so too!

Nani- I love homemade trail mix! I like knowing what's in it and where it came from. LOL

Amanda- Thanks for letting me know Sweetie! Hugs to all of you!

Maren- Thanks! It's just a couple of weeks new!

JP- Probably. We'll see how it goes. It did say 'hope' and I do hope I can...LOL

  20. If you lose 60 pounds this summer....I want some! Maybe I should try some homemade trail mix instead of my movie snack...Then maybe I wouldn't need some of that miracle summer weight loss stuff you're usin'...LOL...Have an awesome week :o)

  21. Sherri- I know it's probably way too much to hope for- especially the way I've been eating lately. LOL

  22. ALASKA!!!! Gotta go someday. Together? You just never know.
Betty says your on MFP, are you? I decided to share a tiny bit to help me keep tracking and so on.
Love your Q&A'a everytime you do them. Thanks for sharing.
Take care Pam and have a blessed evening!

  23. Great answers this week. You have to be pretty close to your goal now.
You have two degrees!!! That is awesome.
Well, I hope you are having a great week.
I am about ready for a padded cell, :)

  24. Julie- I am on there! I'm Momaloft. Look for me! We'll connect over there too!

Kim- Ha. I WISH I was close to my goal. Yes, two undergrad degrees, one Masters. We're all about education around here. Uh oh. A padded cell? I'm headed over to your blog!

  25. The Father of the Bride movies are wonderful. I won't watch the races however I don't watch football either. The cottage on the coast sounds like the perfect dream. Sorry Birdie left again :( and congrats on the new family member coming!

  26. It's so much fun learning about other bloggers :)

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment! It makes me feel connected to everyone even though we may live far apart! Have a wonderful day!
