Hump Day HOPS!

HUMP DAY has arrived! It's time for the HOPS!

1. How many students were in your high school graduating class? Did you know most, if not all of them? Just a couple hundred or so I think. Yeah, I knew them. I didn't like them then. Don't care for them now. I went to school with a bunch of narrow-minded, bigoted idiots who acted like they were all raised in barns.

2. What was the last thing you photographed? Tucker and Strider chasing squirrels.

3. Pickles-love 'em or loathe 'em? If its love what's something you eat that needs a pickle? I can take them or leave them. Birdie, on the other hand, will steal pickles right off your plate!

4. What's a stereotype you seem to perpetuate without meaning to? I have tried to be very aware of stereotyping since my college years- with degrees in sociology and psychology my exposure to the dangers of stereotyping were pounded into my head. Pretty sure that if I do perpetuate any stereotypes, it's gender related. LOL

5. Ever been horse back riding? If so is it something you enjoy? If not, do you have any interest? Did you watch the Kentucky Derby? Will you be watching the last leg of the Triple Crown this weekend? I used to ride when I was a kid and I loved it! But I don't watch the Derby and I won't be watching the triple crown this weekend. Hey, it's not football. ;)

6. What's your favorite 'wedding' movie?I actually have several but my all time favorite is Father of the Bride- Spencer Tracy or Steve Martin- it matters not, I love them both!

7. What is one 'tourist attraction' in the USA that you'd like to see in person? I've pretty much seen the things I've wanted to see over the years. But I've never been to Maine or Alaska and I've always wanted to. Not sure what tourist attractions they have there but I'd give just about anything to live in a cottage on the coast in Maine and see the Aurora Borealis in Alaska.

8. Insert your own random thought here. It's so good to have Birdie home! Until she headed out the door to NC. That's right, she left me again. She's the head trainer at the Ralph Lundy soccer camp up there this summer. Which is great but, dang! We just got her home! :)

Found out that the husband's nephew and his sweetasallgetout wife are expecting! New family member to arrive December 10-give or take.

DoodleBug nannies in the summer months. One of her charges is an adorable little girl named Petula. I LOVE that name--hinthint to any of the lovelies who might be interested in providing a grandchild before I die.

It's time to get your chat on with Wendell the Wonder Horse...er, um...I mean with Patrice! At Everyday Ruralty!
Questions
  1. If you wear a hat, what kind is it mostly likely to be? A big floppy hat in the garden. But mostly I don't wear one at all because I hate it when my head sweats under there.
  2. Do you wear perfume or cologne (ever)? That's a big NEVER EVER. I'm allergic to most-the instant I smell it, I taste it and then  I get a headache.
  3. What's your favorite snack while watching movies or television? I try not to snack while watching tv or a movie but, when I do, I try to do gluten free pretzels or my homemade trail mix. I used to absolutely LOVE buttered popcorn at the movies though. Dang that stuff was good!
  4. What's the last gift you purchased or made? Can't tell you that right now- she reads my blog and would probably figure it out!
  5. Please finish this sentence. Before summer is over I hope I've lost at least 60 pounds.
Have a fantastic day y'all!

  2. Fun movie choice - I am sad that they almost ruined the original by producing such terrible squeals.

  3. I highly recommend a trip to Maine. I think Acadia National Park might be one of the most beautiful places on earth.

  4. Lucy-True. Thanks, I hope so too. I'm wondering if it's a bit lofty though.

Wayne- I love the original and the sequels! I just watched the Spencer Tracy one last week. Only for the 500th time though. LOL

Joyce- I really want to go! If I ever get there, I'll check out the park!

  5. I love the name Petula, too, but I was a big fan of Petula Clark when I was a kid.
Last night I was watching Places in the Heart, the old movie with Sally Field (although old is an adjective that hurts my heart because it feels like it just came out last week) and her daughter's name in the movie is Possum. I LOVE THAT. I asked my husband, will you call me Possum now?

  6. Cathy- And is he calling you Possum? LOL I love that movie too. I also remember Petula Clark. When DoodleBug told me the little girl's name I said, "I've haven't heard that name since I was a little kid and listened to Petula Clark." She wanted to know who Petula Clark was. Kids. Sheesh. :)

  8. You would love Maine. I do! The lighthouses are my favorite thing to see, but the rocky shoreline is awesome as well.

Smile the weekend is coming! =D

  9. MKM- It's terrible to walk into a department store at the cosmetic entrance!

Cathy- I would LOVE to visit there. We have a couple of lighthouses in our area but I still want to go to Maine. And live there. On that rocky coast. HEY! Maybe in a lighthouse! :)

  10. You know that's not a nice thing to say about barns. I've known some pretty nice animals raised in barns - and some pretty disgusting people! lol

Keep photographing Tucker. He's such a cutie!

  11. Judy- It's the disgusting people that bother me, not the animals. LOL You're too funny! Tucker says, "Thanks!"

Sounds like Birdie got a good opportunity, sorry she's gone again, though!

Petula Clark is the only Petula I've heard of...until now.
