Friday Fragments...On Saturday?

Yep. That's right. Friday Fragments on Saturday because...well, there's no excuse really. But there IS still time to join in the fun so y'all can click right on the button and head over to Mrs. 4444's place and have at it!

This week has been a blur just like the rest of them. Too bad the heat never blurs though. I think a lot of us are ready for a long, chilly fall.

My brother and SIL surprised me this week with a visit and lunch on Shem Creek. You can see the pictures from that outing by CLICKING RIGHT HERE.

Birdie, our athletic trainer, offered (and I use the term offered, loosely) to train me for the 5k on Thanksgiving day. You can read about that if you CLICK HERE.

DoodleBug had a scare this week with financial aid at her college. It was a mess up on their part but still, it sent her into a tizzy like you wouldn't believe. A total freak out. Luckily, I had picked up on this when they told her weeks ago, "No, you don't need anything else. You're good to go." because I know better than to believe someone when they make that sort of comment and I was able to help her straighten this out in a matter of minutes. See? I told you we're still needed even when they've left the nest. Now, who's going to help financial aid get their crap together?

I received a most wonderful gift in the mail this week. Patrice at Everyday Ruralty held a party a couple of weeks ago and her DD2 (a self taught artist) painted a picture of Tucker for me! You can see it if you CLICK HERE.

Finally, I have a winner for a copy of THE DIVORCE GIRL- congratulations to NANI over at The Chronicles of Nani!

I've already contacted Nani and she has already responded! I've emailed your info and they will send the book at soon!

Have a great weekend!

  1. I am sooo sooo sooooo thankful that you made your FF on Saturday because it saved me from being the latest to the party!

Now I've been around to all the posts and commented on those that don't have word veri.

Now on with my Saturday - - -

  2. The painting is adorable--I love the playfulness of it!

  3. Keetha- Aren't those dang word verification things awful?! I feel like doing a post just on that. LOL

Chantel- I love it too! I can't believe this kid taught herself and she's only like 15. It was such a nice surprise!

  4. I hate financial screw ups. I don't know if it's complexity of the system or the lack of training of the staff. We recently had an insurance screw up.
Good that the financial aid mess didn't freak you too. At least one calm thinking mind is needed in these situations.

  5. You too, have a lovely weekend.
I am so glad you were able to get that straightened out. That kind of stuff always makes me crazy.
You are quite handy I think. :) Lucky girls.

  6. bill- Me too. I just figured there was no need to panic until after I raked them over the, I mean, discussed the matter calmly with them. LOL

Kim- Thanks! We're enjoying it so far! It makes me crazy too but, luckily, she can't see the chaos that I have going on in my head during these things. :)

  7. I think we're all in the same time crunch boat - even when we look like we have nothing, really, on our plates. There's always something comes up and we're never bored.
Glad you were able to sort out the finances...I'm not the money wiz in our family LOL

  8. Congrats to Nani!
It is fun and nice to be needed :)
What a wonderful, personal item to win!!

  9. Congratulations to Nani!

So glad that you were able to stay calm and get that financial aid situation resolved.

I'm one of the ones who are praying for an early and long fall!

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment! It makes me feel connected to everyone even though we may live far apart! Have a wonderful day!
