Some Hodge With A Bit Of Podge

Are you ready for some Hodge Podge? Then step right up, click that little button and let's get started!

1.  When were you last facing an ocean? Using just ONE word, describe how you felt as you faced that ocean. Invigorated.

2. What are three sounds you hate to hear? Whining, snoring, bitching.

3. This question comes to you courtesy of some real life friends. Hi real life friends! When you shop for yourself, do you try everything on in the store before buying or do you buy, try on at home, and then return what you don't like or what doesn't fit? I never, ever use a dressing room but I also never, ever return anything. I know my size and what I like and that's what I buy.

4. February 26th is National Pistachio Day...are you a fan of the little green nut? Do you use them in cooking and baking or prefer to eat them right out of the shell? I like them and I prefer to eat them right out of the shell.

5. When did you last have to compromise with someone?  Were you happy to reach the compromise or slightly irritated it was necessary? Oh crap. This is NOT a question where I am going to come off looking good at all. I don't compromise very well. I mean, I will do it, but I don't like it.

6.  Have you ever written a letter to an elected official? Did you get a response? Yes. Several times. And I did get responses each time.

7. We 'March' into a new month at the end of this week...what's something on your March calendar guaranteed to make you smile? Birthdays- my mother's, my dad's and my Aunt Betty's. And then there's a teacher workday at the end of the month that I'm planning on taking off. Shhh...don't tell.

8.  Insert your own random thought here.I hate to let y'all know my bed time when I'm working but let me just say that I never get to watch Castle because it comes on at 10:00 and, by the time 10:00 rolls around, I've been asleep for a certain amount of time. :)  Anyway, I finally woke up to the fact that I can record Castle and watch it on Tuesdays after school. I only watch a few present day television programs (The Big Bang Theory, Modern Family, Last Man Standing and Castle) so you know if I do watch them, I really like them. The last two episodes were so good! Love me some Castle!

I'm still holding out for some nice winter weather. Seems like every time we get cold temps we get zero precipitation and every time we have precipitation, we get temps in the 50s and 60s. I can NOT catch a break on this winter thing.

Now it's your turn! How did you answer Joyce's questions?

  1. I like Last Man Standing too...all the shows you mentioned actually : )

I am often sound asleep at a ridiculous hour. Unless hubs is traveling then I'm up til all hours writing, cleaning, baking...it's crazy!

Your secret is safe with me : )

  4. You know just thinking, have you ever thought about moving to Maine? Lots of snow, cold weather, ice. I mean I think you must live in paradise being next to the ocean.
Not to mention just the whole being Southern thing. Just wondering. :)
I have not watched Castle. I should look into it.
I am glad it is Wednesday, I always enjoy your answers.

  5. Joyce- I'm not as good at sleeping when I'm by myself in the house either. Those noises are just so different, aren't they? Thanks!

Kathy- They are no fun to listen to at all, are they? LOL It does, but now that I finally figured out that DVR thingy...LOL

April- I do enjoy birthdays. I think we have at least one every month out of the year. Icing---YUM! LOL

Kim- I think about it all the time! And I would still be at the coast! Now, I would miss being amongst MY people- southerners. LOL But I'd be willing to give it a try anyway. Let me know if you watch Castle and what you think of it. Thanks!

  7. I tape all of my favorite shows so I don't have to deal with commercials. I seldom watch anything live. Have fun with all the birthday's in March!

  10. Lol at your answer to 3! and to 5! I bet you're not as fierce as you say at all!
You're asleep by 10? Holy cow! that's the middle of the day. Oh wait, what time do you get up at? (it's probably before 8, which is when I usually arise!)
I'm very interested in these "teacher workdays", we don't have those here, is it training or preparation or something entirely different?

  11. Gail- Ah, great minds and all that. LOL

Debby- I would do that but I never remember that I have that DVR thingy. LOL

Plum- I LOVE me some Castle!

Betty- Netflix. There's yet another thing I keep forgetting that I have. LOL

Mimi- You'd be surprised. LOL I'm asleep before 10:00 ever gets here. But then I am up by 5:13 every morning. AND, if I happen to awaken earlier, I just stay awake. I keep farmer's hours. :) Teacher workdays are usually days when we don't have students and are used to catch up on whatever we need to do. We have professional development days and things like that but our workdays are our catch up days. They're nice to have.
