They're Baaa-ack

It's here, y'all.

That time of year when the teachers in our county have finished all their PD meetings and inservice meetings and back-to-school faculty meetings and decorating their rooms in the most welcoming way for the arrival of their students. There's only one thing left to do.

Get that Valium prescription filled.

Though some prefer Xanax.

Parents are now coming off their prescriptions.

It's that time of year when the county gives us all these wonderful resources. And expects us to come up with ways to utilize them in the classroom.

In two days.

It's that time of year when you have to wait around for days for a response to a very important question. But must have an answer to another person's question immediately.

It's that time of year when the buses are out on the road flying by at the speed of light and screeching to a halt so fast that the kids end up squished against the front window.

It's that time of year when PEOPLE REFUSE TO GO THE SPEED LIMIT NEAR OUR SCHOOL because they are stupid or rude or just love to ride my tail.

Yes, y'all. School is back in session. But don't worry- I am ready!

My room is done.

Ok, the front of the room isn't quite done. But I'm waiting to go over the rules and some other things before I put the rest up---

The extra crap things that were asked of me (because I have SO much extra time on my hands) are done.

Paper work is filled out.

Safety tests are completed and passed. Times SIX of those freaking things.

Files have been organized and cleaned out.

Lessons are still in the making but I'm good for the first couple of weeks.

And----my prescriptions have been filled.

Which means I probably won't be singing this song----

Anyone else back at school?

  1. Nope - done with all that, but I do work in an art museum and we rent classroom space to Montessori Middle School, so we DO have students and teachers in the building now.

God bless you and all teachers!!

  2. Fun post! :-) Sounds like you've got everything under control. And just look how organized and clean everything looks. I don't have students, but I do now have grandkids (and their parents) living with us.

  3. I love your classroom! I wish I could decorate mine (but since other faculty members use the class, I can't). I don't get back into the classroom until Sep. 3rd, but I've been trying to get a small jump start on my lesson plans. Once the semester starts, it's so easy to fall behind!

  4. Daughter2 has her first day with her 3rd graders today, and she is super excited. Gotta love the enthusiasm of a brand new teacher : ) Hope you have a great year!

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment! It makes me feel connected to everyone even though we may live far apart! Have a wonderful day!
