Finding Hodgepodge

And Autumn. It's not here. It's still in the upper 70s to low 80s and I am NOT a happy camper. Not. A. Happy. Camper. Keep your fingers crossed that our weather dude is not toying with me about the cool down change that is coming.

Meanwhile, the Hodgepodge keeps me smiling!

1. What was your biggest worry five years ago?  Is it still a worry? I can't really recall a 'worry'. There were things going on that I made decisions about and dealt with but I wasn't really worried about them. I spent so many of the last 28 years in worry over things that I pretty much decided about 5 or so years ago that I just wasn't going to give those things any more thought or concern. You can do so much and people are still going to be who they are and do what they do to you. So, I quit worrying about it. I changed my focus and direction and attention and have been feeling so much better ever since. It's true that turning your back on the negatives makes all the difference- in a good way.

2. Yesterday (October 15th) was National Grouch Day...what makes you grouchy? What cheers you up when you're feeling grouchy? Are you sure it wasn't today? Cause today was my grouchy day. It was mostly caused by talkative 5th graders. But, usually, it's a lack of sleep, waiting too late to eat, etc. I have a friend who can cheer me up no matter what has made me grouchy!

3.  In one word, how does it feel to be photographed? Uncomfortable.

4. Besides your parents, who would you say had the greatest influence on you in choosing your life path?  Explain. I'm pretty much my own worst enemy on this one. I was more rebellious than following the path others may have wished for me. Had I bothered paying attention and considering what others had to say, I might have been much happier in my life.

5. The crisp days of autumn are here ...what's something you like to eat, but only if it's crisp? Crisp? Where is it crisp? Cause it's NOT here. They say it's coming, but I'm doubtful. Food? I guess bacon since that 's the only thing I can think of right now.

6. What's the most useless object you own? Pretty much everything someone has taking up space and making a cluttered mess in the playroom.

7.  Share a favorite fall memory. Only ONE? I have TONS! Ok....let's see...I'm going to go with sitting around the den on Sunday afternoons watching football with my dad.

8.  Insert your own random thought here. I teach 31 classes each and every week from kindergarten through 5th grade. And those 5th graders are on my LAST nerve with all their talking. I haven't been around a class like this since Deanie was in 5th grade. No worries, I've got a plan of action. I try to keep it positive in the lab and I think I've got a way to shut them up keep them quiet and focused. Wish them me luck!

Have a great rest of the week, y'all!

  6. I do enjoy your Hodgepodge.

I can't remember my worries, try to throw them away.

Many things make me grouchy, quiet nature seems to heal it.

    Photography...dreaded.

I've had many wonderful influences and probably some not so wonderful but they have all had a hand in making me Me.

I have to go with bacon or fresh sweet peppers picked on an autumn morning.

Some days I think every thing I owe is useless.

I've lost my glasses...what was that question?

I am not capable of teaching many children. I admire your talent. Put me with dogs and I will have them trained.

I'm sending a secret warning to the fifth graders.

  8. Debby- Mine listen for the most part. But I wasn't as controlling as my parents were. Then again, some kids just want to do their own thing and make their own mistakes. Some listening would have saved me a ton of grief though.

Gail- You crack me up girl! :)

Judy- I did. I admit it. :) Thanks! I think I've got them right where I want them now. Fingers crossed!

  11. I see that 'football with my dad' is a recurring theme. It's a great memory, isn't it.

I agree with the point of view re. worrying. It's totally pointless.

Fly up here and feel our 'crisp' air. We're having our first snow.

  12. Oh, dear I was a real talker in school!!! I wish I had been quieter and learned more!! I still talk too much!

Good idea to just let go of worrisome things. I have had to do that in a few circumstances.
