The Second Half

Of my thankful list for November.

I'm thankful for:

16. Cold weather and snow. Even though we don't get much of the first and pretty much none of the latter.
17. The smell of the air here...we are only 3 miles from the ocean so the air is fantastic.
18. Foggy mornings and fog horns in the distance.
19. Trips to visit old friends.
20. Music.
21. Christmas movies.
22. People who try to be environmentally conscious.
23. Spring water and the fact that I don't have to drink our town water.
24. America.
25. Football.
26. Certified organic farmers.
27. Understanding.
28. Laughter.
29. Color.
30. I wanted to put Christmas decorations here. But my 'roomies' didn't hold up their end. So, no Christmas decorations are going up here this weekend. Sadly.

On a lighter, more positive note, from that last thankful- Thanksgiving with SonInLawIntended's family was quite enjoyable. We shared stories of our families and laughed the whole day. What a blessing that we have two in-law families now that we love so much!

Of course, I spent so much time visiting, I totally forgot to take pictures. I did take these few---

My cranberry/pear sauce cooking--

The table decorations--

My Thanksgiving morning run to the marsh with Tucker---

And I got these because I thought to use my phone camera. I've got to start picking up the camera more. :)

Hope y'all had a marvelous Thanksgiving and are not out there in the middle of the shopping frenzy today. I'm under a blanket sipping hot apple cider and enjoying this delightfully cold weather!

  1. What a beautiful place to run. I love how the light hits the trees. I would run there too, well maybe not run. :) Your cranberry sauce is so pretty. I would love to live only three miles from the beach, I bet the air is divine. Have a lovely day.

  2. That sure is a nice place to run (or walk)! I forgot to take photos, too, but we had a nice day.

I had hoped to have the tree up and decorated by now, but MY roomie is still in his PJs and not moving toward the garage/attic any time soon, I'm afraid. Sigh. I'll be happy if I can light the Advent Candle on Sunday.

  3. I can't believe they didn't hold up to their end. Stick to your guns Mom! Glad you had a great Thanksgiving even if you did forget to take pictures! XX

  4. I took this morning just for me to decorate. If I didn't I'm not sure when it would of happened. Than I spent the afternoon decorating at my parents because they don't want to be happy right now, hard times you know, but I insisted and you should of seen the smiles. It was worth listening to the crabbies at first.
Thank you for stopping by. Did you eat your dressing? Not me but I did have both ham and turkey.
    Blessings Pam.

  5. Delightfully cold, huh? I have to ask; what temp is that, exactly? ;)

I like your list. It was nice (and refreshing) to see America on it; it's definitely something we all need to appreciate.

  6. Kim- I always like that too. We have to wait for the sun to come up before we can go out there--town rule. So we go right at sunrise and it's never really disappointing. Sometimes we just walk out there. The air is what gets in your blood. Now I can't live away from the coast. I'm ruined. LOL

Terri- I'm glad I'm not the only one who forgot to take pictures. Mine still hasn't made a move in the right direction. No decorations make his roomie very unhappy.

Barb- Well, I guess I don't have a choice other than to stick to my guns since his mess is so bad I can't even get to the attic. :)

Julie- I'm glad you went over and decorated for your parents. I understand how they don't want to be happy, but they need to at least play the part for now. Eventually, they will get to the point where they can at least live every day and find some sort of joy in a piece here and there. I did eat dressing. And way too much of it. :(

Mrs- We're been in the 30s and 40s in the mornings. One morning the wind chill was 26 and I assure you I had to run to warm up. LOL Thanks! I do love this country. Regardless of what the politicians do.

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment! It makes me feel connected to everyone even though we may live far apart! Have a wonderful day!
