Selfies

I've been working on my ability to take selfies for several weeks now. It's not as easy as you may think. You can look really stupid when you're first trying it out.

Point in case:

You hold the phone and it slips when you try to find that stupid shutter button.

You hold the phone way too close and get one section of your face.

You're never quite sure where to look so you keep trying no matter how stupid you continue to look. At least I didn't get a shot up my nose.

It's also entertaining to those young smart asses who have no trouble at all taking selfies.

After a while, you start having some fun with it. By making faces.

And then you get closer to the whole face.

And finally, you get one!

And then another!

What can I say? Apparently, you CAN teach an old dog new tricks. Ha!

Anyway, the point of this, besides sharing my stupidity with y'all, is to show you my new glasses! I got them from Firmoo and paid LESS THAN $50 for them! Which is amazing since mine are the no-line bifocals and all that.

I told them I would link to their site and so, here's the link: FIRMOO! And, don't forget that your first pair is free. Unless your script is like mine but it's still WAY less expensive than other places.

Try them out. Unless you enjoy paying several hundred dollars for your glasses. :)

  1. The glasses look great! But the best part is that you are finally "showing" yourself to us. :) (I hate making selfies, I always look weird)

  2. There's that pretty smile we don't see enough of! I'm so proud of you, you have no idea!! Love the glasses and thanks for the tip. I'm overdue for my eye exam and will need a new pair of bi or tri-focals. Need all the help with $ I can get. These pics remind me so much of your daughters pic with the glasses on!! LOL Love ya! xx

    1. Thanks, Barb! I have given up on waiting for things to change. I'm just going to do what I do and be who I am and let the rest go. I've learned a lot of that from you, my friend! Seriously, the glasses are less expensive even with my progressive lenses. Love you too!

  3. I will definitely check out the website, since I am looking for some new glasses. I love yours!! Thanks for the link and referral! It's better trying something new when you know someone who had a good experience with them.

    1. I really just liked the price at first. But after my first pair, I ended up doing it again when the prescription changed. It's sort of fun too except you'll need a couple of hours to look through all their choices.

    1. Thanks! It's been fun trying to get the full face instead of an eye. LOL

  5. Looks like you had fun creating this post. Yes, glasses are way over priced.

  6. I love your new glasses. I can't take a selfie of myself or I should say I can't stand my fat face in the selfie's I take!

    1. Well, yeah, the whole fat face thing IS a deterrent. But I have got to get over it, so I tried some selfies. It took forever to get my whole face in a shot. LOL

  7. I'm not great at taking selfies, either. I end up deleting them all because I don't like the way I look in them. :(

  8. I think you did a fantastic job for your first try at selfies! I've been a blogreaderslacker for many months and have spent a while on yours trying to catch up! I love your glasses, nice to see your pretty face in a few pictures, your family is growing and....you are.....stronger than ever!

  9. I have to always tell myself to "elongate the neck" when I take selfies! It helps that my phone has a selfie choice.
I bet I wouldn't get the first pair of glasses free...I'm blind as a bat!

  10. You have made me laugh so much! Thank you!! When I tried and showed my daughter she said that I didn't look right - of course it is a mirror image, so when I reverted it, I couldn't get used to it being what everyone else must see!! :-S

  11. You cracked me up! That's how it is for me too. And I was recently aghast when I was looking at a selfie pic and realized I had a lazy eye...or something. One eye was looking one way and the other another. So attractive.

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment! It makes me feel connected to everyone even though we may live far apart! Have a wonderful day!
