Groovy Hodgepodge

All I have to say about this heat is this:

And now, the Hodgepodge--which is always a pleasure no matter the weather.

1. Is your home air conditioned? YES, thankfully! If it's not air conditioned, is that by choice? It would NEVER be by choice for me. I love my AC and I'm not embarrassed. Did you grow up with air conditioning? No. If not how did you cope with the heat? Funny, but I don't recall the heat being this oppressive when I was coming along. We had our windows open and window fans going. During the day, my cousins and I went to the pool or ran through the sprinklers. Share about a time or place you remember as being too hot-the temperature kind of hot, lest anyone be confused. Right now. When they start talking heat advisories and indexes, it's too freaking hot.

2. What's something in your life right now that falls under the heading 'up in the air'? How much longer I intend to do the school thing. I'm thinking I'd like this to be my last year.

3. Your favorite light and airy dessert? Fresh fruit and whipped cream layered in a parfait glass.

4. When did you last feel like you were 'floating on air'? It must have been a LONG time ago because I can't think of a single time.

5. Airport, airmail, airtight, airhead...which have you most recently encountered? Explain. Hmm... No one has flown in or out of the airport; I have not mailed or received anything via airmail; I don't use Tupperware or have the need for alibis...so, I'm going to go with airhead. There's at least one every single time someone posts something on our neighborhood Facebook page. Perhaps opinionated dumb ass is a better term.

6.  Have you ever been to the Alps? No. If so where did you go? I didn't. If not, is this a destination on your must-see list? Nope. If you were headed that direction this summer, which of the following would be your preferred activity...a gentle walk, a serious walk, a bike ride, a boat ride around one of the lakes, or summer snow skiing? Probably one of the walks or the boat ride.

7. What is one saying or phrase that was considered 'cool' when you were growing up? I don't ever remember using a phrase or particular word (I wasn't a 'cool' kid) but I do remember my older cousins saying, "Groovy."

8. Insert your own random thought here. Here you go:

Have a great rest of the week, y'all!

  1. I bet the heat was just as oppressive, but we get used to AC so when without it, it's horrid! I say this as someone from a state that is usually too cold. Lol. Have a wonderful week, Pam.

    1. You may be right about that. Or else, as a kid, I just didn't care. I loved being outside all the time. I've been spending mornings out on the deck watching Tucker pester the squirrels but, around 10 or 11, it gets HOT. I would trade this hot for your too cold just for the beauty of your area! Thanks! You too!

  2. You live in such a beautiful place. Love the beach photos. I'm sure it does get hot sometimes, though, but I always prefer hot to cold. :) Have a great week, and stay cool!

    1. I have always preferred cold to hot. Now, I still like it best on the cold side but can't take extremes of either. LOL You have a great week too! Thanks!

  3. I love your cartoons! Yes, it has been really hot here! I keep hoping for a good thunderstorm, but we haven't had much here rain in PISC. We need it! Stay cool... stay groovy!

    1. We had a thunderstorm yesterday afternoon but not enough rain to 'unwilt' the plants. Guess I'm going to have to get out there and hand water. Which, as soon as I do- the bottom will drop out. LOL Thanks!

  4. I love your random thought today! The weather is exactly the same here, so I'm staying real close to the air conditioning :)

  5. I am total agreement with your heat funnies! I am teaching summer school and it is so cold in my room and I ready to get out in the triple digits to let the ice melt from my finger tips! I have to wear a cardigan inside and a tank top outside!

    1. It's usually the same way at our school. Though I'm glad I have no idea about how it's going this summer. I haven't been near the place. LOL

    1. Truth! I still use it from time to time. And I do say, "Can you dig it?" Though I wasn't cool back then. I guess I am now. Ha!

    1. Oh, good! I've been commenting for some time but I'm never sure when the WordPress thing asks me to log-in. I think I went with google+ yesterday. Maybe I should keep doing that.

  11. October / November in the south is perfect for me. Still great beach weather without sweltering in the sun.
