Fallin' into the Hodgepodge

It's the FIRST DAY OF FALL, Y'ALL! It's finally here! I wait all year on this season to get started! All. Year. Even though football starts before the season's official start, and I watch it faithfully, I don't appreciate it fully until the season kicks in.

Anyway, I've been MIA from the Hodgepodge for a few weeks. It's so good to be back! Could life be slowing down a tad? Dare I say it? Dare I believe it? Here we go!

1. What have you 'fallen for' recently? Well, it certainly wasn't the weather report because, if I had, I would be totally pissed since it's still summertime highs out there and NOT the cooler temps they claimed we'd have by now.

2. What's something you're 'squirreling away' for later? Apparently, total relaxation in a clean, tidy house. Because it's not going to happen until these people move back out.

3. How do you like your apples? Sweet? Tart? Crisp? Cooked? Apples are one of the superfoods for fall...how often do you eat an apple either plain or as part of a favorite recipe? What's your favorite variety? I love apples no matter how they are prepared. I eat a good many of them just plain and my favorites are Golden Delicious.

4. According to Fodor's the ten best fall foliage trips in the US of A are-Aspen ColoradoThe Catskills New York, The Berkshires Massachusetts, Columbia River Gorge Oregon, Green Mountain Byway Vermont, Enchanted Circle Scenic Byway New Mexico, Great Smoky Mountains of North Carolina and Tennessee, Upper Peninsula Michigan, Lake of the Ozarks Missouri, and Glacier National Park Montana. Which would you most like to visit this fall and why? Probably The Catskills or anywhere in Vermont. What I'd really like is to find one of those quaint New England towns that have small populations, a strong sense of community and the most glorious fall changes coupled with those lovely harvest festivals. So, wherever that is. :)

5. The topic of legalizing marijuana was raised in the most recent televised political debate so let's wade in too. Twenty-three states and the District of Columbia currently have laws legalizing marijuana in some form. Four states have legalize marijuana for recreational use. Your thoughts? I'm for it and that's all I'm going to say. Because I can say a whole lot about this and alcohol. But I'm not going to. Nope. Not gonna do it.

6. Are you okay to watch a movie already in progress or do you need to always see it from the beginning? How about jumping into a TV series somewhere in the middle? Is that okay? HAVE to start at the beginning with the movie and the series. Which is why I love Netflix and Hulu. :)

7. Thursday (September 24) is National Punctuation Day. What rule of punctuation trips you up most often? What rule of punctuation, when broken by someone else, bugs you the most? The misuse (or non-use) of the comma irks the crap out of me. The semi-colon throws me off sometimes. And I never use the colon.

8.  Insert your own random thought here. It's job city in our family lately. Three of our family members have new jobs: DoodleBug is the newest first grade teacher at my school which just happens to be the school she and her sisters attended in elementary school; Breezy, our artist in residence, is the newest artist at Wine and Design; and Deanie is the newest designer at Hastings Architecture. Goodness! It's time for me to retire and let these people support me. Ha! AND, today is an early release day from school! WooHoo!

Have a wonderful rest of the week, y'all!

Hoping you get a taste of fall soon. We've had some less humid temps lately and I'm happy to pull out my blue jeans again. Enjoy your shortened work day!

    1. Gotta love technology, eh? LOL Yes it is! And I hope the two living here will live elsewhere because of those jobs. LOL I hope so too. This heat and humidity is getting old. The shortened work day turned into a PD. Sigh.

  8. Totally agree on finding a quaint little town to go to every fall and enjoy the people and the leaves. If I could ever find one or know where to go. That is one of my bucket list things.

  9. Is the small New England town a place to visit or move to? I would prefer the northwest over the northeast for relocating. We had a great visit to New Hampshire a few years back. Took a guided boat ride on lake that was using in "On Golden Pond". Nice area.
