If You Aren't Going to Cook it for Me...

DON'T post it. This should go without saying, people. Seriously, do y'all have those friends (and I use the term loosely) who post all that delicious goodness on Facebook or elsewhere yet they NEVER make the yummy edible and bring it to your house so that you can indulge?

The one that I've been begging for since a year or so ago is this one:

San-freaking-gria CAKE! I ran across it at OH Bite IT! and I've been wanting it ever since. No one has picked up the gauntlet that I threw down.

Why do people post this stuff and never make it for you? WHY?

Someone posted this one a month ago:

But she hasn't brought it to my house for my to devour.

And these:

These were posted by a COUSIN. A cousin who hasn't brought one single prepared recipe to my house.

Pecan Cheesecake Squares Recipe at Positively Splendid - A layer of shortbread, a layer of cheesecake, and a layer of pecan pie in every bite. YUM!

Teachers at school do it too:

Let's not forget the bloggers who post divine recipes on their blogs. Judy at Cranberry Morning is especially guilty of posting and not bringing the prepared dishes to my house. (No matter that she lives way far away...that's not the point.)

Yes, I realize that I could make these recipes myself. But, if people are going to post and make other people WANT these dishes, then there should be a rule: You post you, you make it for ME. Ha!

I also realize that these recipes contain carbs, those little devils that I am no longer ingesting. BUT, if someone else makes the recipe and brings it to me, I'm not really responsible AND, because I am somewhat of a nice person and it would be rude to refuse the gift, I would HAVE to accept and partake. :)

This is especially important now that the holidays are upon us.

Yes, I do indeed have this all figured out.

  1. I couldn't agree more, Pam. Right as rain. There is something terribly wrong when these delicious delicacies turn up on FB or Blogger and all we can do is assume it tastes as good as it looks. I am seriously going to look at that Sangria Cake now...knowing no one will bring it to me, I may have to give it a try. Have a good week, my friend.

    1. I think it should be a law. LOL That cake looks so good. I've been drooling over it for a long time now. Sigh. If you do try it, let me know!

  2. They're evil people. Every one of them Except my friend Debbi from Canada. When she comes down she brings me very fattening sweet chocolate things. I love her for it too! Lol
