Aruba, Jamaica, the Hodgepodge

It seems to me no matter what we do, what the time of year, what events are coming, time flies by way too quickly. Day after day, week after week, month after month...every moment comes and goes so fast I almost remember each one as a flash. How do we slow it down, y'all?

While I continue looking for the solution to the much too fast passing of time, I'm glad there's the Hodgepodge to enjoy! How about you?

1. "The cure for anything is salt water-tears, sweat, or the sea." (Isak Dinesan) Would you agree? To a point because, sometimes, it takes the mountains or laughter or music. Plus, the sea doesn't do it for me even though it's a mere 3.1 miles from my back door. Of the three, which has 'cured' you most recently? Of those three, I'd probably have to say, tears.

2. What's something you can't eat without salt? Grits, rice, potatoes. Do you normally salt your food a lot, a little, or not at all? Very little. Except for grits, rice, and potatoes. LOL

3. Sands of time, bury your head in the sand, built on sand, or draw a line in the sand...which sandy phrase could best be applied to something in your life right now? Bury my head in the sand.

4. A favorite book, movie, or song with an island setting or theme? Books- anything Stephen King with an island setting. Movies? I had to Google this and I didn't really like anything that came up. Songs? I'll go with the one below. But only when the Muppets do it. I never loved The Beach Boys.

5. Yesterday-did you run your day or did it run you? I ran my day. How so? I stopped everything and sat down to read my friend, Carol Wyer's, new serial killer thriller, LITTLE GIRL LOST. Not a chore is getting done until I finish.

6. You're on an island holiday. Will I most likely find you parked in a beach chair, shopping in town, on the back of a jet ski, or snorkeling off the back of a catamaran? If it's hot you'll find me inside with the AC blasting. If it's not hot, I'd probably be walking the beach or, on a rare occasion, parked on a beach chair.

7. What do you think we humans most take for granted? The little things- health, a roof over our heads, heat when it's cold, AC when it's hot, running water, etc.

8. Insert your own random thought here. So much running through my head but I shall spare y'all and just leave you with this:

Have a wonderful rest of the week, y'all!

  1. I like the song too. We were on an island last week and I found myself singing it a lot : ) It's a bit of an earworm, and we could see Montserrat which is mentioned in the song. Have a great day!

  2. Your song choice, was mine also. We do definitely take the 'little' things in life for granted. Have a Blessed Day!

  3. Visiting today from the Hodgepodge. Nice to meet you :) When it's hot I have to be in the A/C or the water, I don't like the heat. Walking the beach is a favorite of mine too. Have a great week :)

    1. Haha! I didn't think of that. It's almost as bad as, "If you like pina coladas..." LOL Thanks!

    1. Aren't they the cutest? :) I use my Bitmoji when texting the daughter who lives in Nashville. I send her morning hugs that way and she loves it. :) I'm glad the weather is changing. This warm stuff is killing me. Have a wonderful Wednesday!

  7. Hi Pam, I agree with air conditioning, we live in the deep south and take it for granted that our house will be cool all summer. Couldn't live without it! Have a good week.
    Cheers!

  8. You're right--grits, rice and potatoes are awful without salt.
    Great answer for #7!
Enjoy the rest of your week,

  11. Oh yes, the Muppets! Much cuter than The Beach Boys. I love The Muppets Christmas Carol which I watch every year. And the older I get the more I realize how very much we take for granted. Have a great weekend, Pam. I won't be spending mine with a serial killer thriller, that's for sure. Anything scary pops right into my head about midnight when Mr. C. is out of town. LOL (shudder)

    1. I don't like to read that stuff when I'm alone in the house either. That's just asking too much of someone with an over-active imagination. I enjoy the Muppets Christmas Carol, too. I watch every and all versions of A Christmas Carol every year. Ok, all year long. LOL You have a good weekend, too!

  12. I like a little salt with most foods like eggs & spuds, of course I love shopping and it would be rare for you to find me sitting at the beach, I don't like sand

    1. I don't like the sand either. Last summer, Molly (youngest daughter) and I were walking Tucker on the beach and I slid down in slimy sand. It was gross. :)

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment! It makes me feel connected to everyone even though we may live far apart! Have a wonderful day!
