Fishing, Parrot Heads, and the Hodgepodge

Loads of things going on around here lately! Ha! I kid. Nothing much is going on at all. Except I get to see the cutie in the picture every weekday and for that, I am forever grateful. That was taken last Wednesday when I asked her mommy to bring their dog over because Tucker LOVES Strider. And Baby M LOVES them both. As you can see, everyone was in HEAVEN at Grandma's last week.

Just wait, Joyce. The level of joy you're going to experience in August will be even more than people say it will be. I can't wait to see ALL the pictures. And yes, you can post all of them because grandmothers can do whatever they want to do. ;)

Here we are at another Hodgepodge. I noticed that Joyce is going to hit the 300 mark in a couple of weeks! Wow! That's a lot of Hodgepodge which translates into, Wow! That's a lot of fun! And getting to know folks! And looking forward to Wednesdays!

All you have to do is click on the Hodgepodge button thingy and join in the fun! I did mention it's FUN, right?

1. Have you ever been fishing? Yes. Did you catch a fish? I don't think so. If so did you keep it or throw it back? I would have thrown it back. If you haven't been fishing is that something you'd like to try? I went a long, long time ago and don't remember much about it other than being bored silly. Fishing is not for impatient people. Please don't tell my brother I'm not a fan, though. He's an avid fisherman- tournaments and all, and I wouldn't want him to lecture me feel bad.

Fish out of water, big fish in a small pond, living in a fishbowl, packed in like sardines, this is a fine kettle of fish, plenty of fish in the sea, or cut bait...which fishy phrase most recently applies to some area of your life? Packed like sardines! Hahahaha!

Check this out, y'all! Pretty funny:

2. What's something you're always fishing for in your purse, wallet, desk, or kitchen junk drawer? I don't really have to fish around because I know where just about everything is. There are times, however, when I do fish around for the scissors when I'm working on a project for the Etsy shop. Those things are never where I put them.

Maybe if this stuff happened, I'd be willing to go fishing.

3. Your favorite fish tale or movie? I really enjoyed BIG FISH and A RIVER RUNS THROUGH IT. But mostly, I enjoy listening to my brother's tales of fishing. He's got some whoppers!

4. Are you sunrise, daylight, twilight or night? I am sunrise. Explain why you chose your answer. If I rise before the sun I have a much better day. I feel more energized and organized. It also gives me time alone to have quiet time. And the sunrise is NEVER disappointing. It's beautiful and brings hope of a new day every single time.

5. What's the oldest piece of clothing you own and still wear? It's an old cotton shirt. It's big and I wear it around the house and sometimes I'll wear it when I head out to the grocery store. It's my comfort shirt.

6. We've got one more month of (officially) winter here in the Northern hemisphere. Are you feeling the need for a getaway? Yes. I'd like to getaway anywhere that's having actual winter. What's been the best and worst part of your winter so far? The worst part of my winter so far is that WE HAVEN'T HAD ANY. There is no best part because WE HAVEN'T HAD ANY. This is the second year in a row and I'm sick of it. Fall and winter are the two seasons that help me tolerate spring and summer. When we don't have fall and winter...let's just say, mama ain't happy.

7.  The Wednesday Hodgepodge lands on National Margarita Day...will you be celebrating? In the middle of the week? Sure. LOL Frozen or on the rocks? Frozen but no salt and vodka instead of te-KILL-ya because that one time in college is still quite fresh in my mind. Are you a Jimmy Buffet fan? Meh. I'm more of a Dead Head than a Parrot Head. If so, what's your favorite JB tune? I like this one, though:

8.  Insert your own random thought here. Having Baby M over every day is fun and exhausting. Of course, the fun outweighs the exhaustion. Last week her auntie was entertaining Baby M with some fake sneezes. Hilarity ensued.

I'll just leave y'all with this:

Have a wonderful rest of the week, y'all!

    1. Oh shoot. It's probably something I did wrong because that's usually the problem LOL I'll try to figure it out. I'm glad you got to enjoy the fishing videos at least! Thanks!

  2. Baby M is absolutely PRECIOUS!!! Those fishing videos cracked me up, too! I am perfectly fine with the fact that we have had no snow this winter, other than one little dusting. Time to welcome spring!:))

    1. I do not feel one bit like welcoming spring because that's all we've had all winter. My allergies have been off the charts and winter is usually my break season. Oh well. Thank you, she's such a joy!

I still need your mailing address if you want the set of coasters you won! Just email me: momaloft4atgmaildotcom!

  3. Ha-love the fishing stereotypes. I recognize a few : ) I hear the pollen is already bad down your way. We're expecting it to hit a little early here this year too. We were actually ready for a very mild winter. We were still in recovery mode from our northeast snowfalls!

    1. Wasn't that a hoot? I was dying. :) It really is bad and my allergies are off the charts. I know y'all enjoyed the winter down here but it's the second year in a row without any cold temps. The coldest we got was right at freezing and it lasted about one whole day. I need a break. Maybe Alaska is getting winter. LOL

  4. Thanks so much for posting those hilarious fishing videos! Thanks to you, I've had my daily laughs :)
It has been a crazy, mild winter, which means the bugs will be even more awful than usual. We're already fighting mosquitoes!
I love the precious video of Baby M :)

    1. They were hilarious, weren't they? I was laughing so hard! I'm so glad you enjoyed them! It has been and it's the second year in a row. I'm over it. And the BUGS. You're so right about them. Baby M is such a delight. When she laughs, we laugh which means we're all doing a whole lot of laughing around here. :) Thank you!

    1. I had such fun watching them. They reminded me of my brother's fishing tales. I have missed it as well. Two years in a row. This is ridiculous. I guess Mother Nature is going through menopause. Ha! No hot for me. Unless you want me to go to jail for murder. LOL Thanks!

  10. I agree with you Pam. Joyce can't even imagine how great it is. I am so looking forward to all her pictures and stories too. I'm hoping to see Colton tomorrow. It's been around 2 weeks and this GiGi is flat missing him.

  12. A River Runs Through It. I hadn't thought of that one. I'll have to dredge it up and watch it this weekend. Baby M has the sweetest giggles.

    1. I had never seen anyone fly fishing until that movie and I thought fly fishing seemed rather poetic. The movie was pretty good, too. :) She does but she's also figured out how to throw a little tantrum here and there which is fun. Not. LOL
