HUMP Day HOPS!

It's time for some HUMP DAY HOPS! Let's get this party started! First, we're swimming into summer with the Hodge Podge!

1. In what way are you your own worst enemy? HA! What about EVERY way? Yep, I am my own worst enemy in just about every way possible. I'm always cutting off my nose to spite my face- as my mother and grandmother used to say.

2. Jacques Cousteau's birthday was Monday, June 11th...ever been scuba diving? Is that something you'd like to try? What's your favorite 'under the sea' creature? I have not ever been scuba diving and it's not something that I'd like to try because I'm a big scared-y cat. I love the ocean. I would not want to live anywhere else because it is in my blood now. However, I like to look at it not go out there really deep into it. I'll take the Discovery Channel documentaries, please. I'm not sure I have a favorite 'under the sea' creature- they're all amazing.

3. On a scale of 1-10, how comfortable are you in and around the water? (1=not at all, 10=very) Do you know how to swim and if so how and when did you learn? I'm a 10 in all water except I am quite timid when it gets really deep in a lake or the ocean. Actually, in the ocean, I get scared when it gets deep. I like to see what's under me. I do know how to swim and I don't know how I learned. I think I came out of the womb knowing how.

4. What's something you do to motivate yourself to tick an item off your to-do list? It's a mental thing---I just tell myself to get it done and then I can have free time OR I tell myself it'll burn some calories.

5. What makes a good neighbor? Are you a good neighbor? Someone who has their eye on your house when you're away and who is there but not in your face 24/7--you know, friendly but not assuming or intrusive. We have great neighbors on one side (Hi, Tina!) and across the street but not on the other side!

6. Who loads the dishwasher at your house? Is there a right way and a wrong way? I do. Um, YES- duh. :)

7. You know it's summer when I have to stay inside in the AC.

8. Insert your own random thought here. I give you the first cucumber of the season---can you say, "Cucumber sandwich!"

Now it's time for some chattin' on the porch! And, hey! I won some NuNaturals from Patrice this week! Woo Hoo!

Questions

  1. What do you do when friends or family pull out a camera? Hide, pose, smile, pull out your own camera and take a photo of whatever they are photographing, or something else? I usually try to avoid their cameras. But, for the most part, I'm the one who take the camera out and takes the pictures. The husband is infamous for his videoing of events. He's sneaky and quiet and we don't know he's gotten us until we see it!
  2. Did you take any type of music lesson in elementary school? Music was incorporated into our elementary ed curriculum but I also took piano lessons and played the clarinet in band-but the latter didn't take place until junior high.
  3. What is your favorite color of cat (even if you aren't a cat person)? I don't have a favorite- I think they're all gorgeous!
  4. What did you have for dinner yesterday? Homemade chicken/brown rice/veggie thing...not sure what to call it. But it was good.
  5. Do your feet hit the floor running in the morning, or do you drag your self out of bed? I hit the floor running because now I have TWO dogs who want me up, dressed and out the door for their morning walk. Spoiled much? Sheesh.

The weekend is almost here y'all! Hang in there!

  1. I would like a cucumber sandwich, please. Ice tea with a hunk of lemon. That's all.

And btw, why is it that you've become my conscience lately? When I took that third piece of GF thin-crust pizza last night (and had told myself I'd only have two), I heard you in my head!! Yikes, Pam. LOL

We had music ed too but I took Piano. You know my pain in the neck doggie LOL and I am not a cat person but they are pretty, I love White, Oh and I like Black too, shoot, hard to pick.

  4. I definitely do not look for opportunities to be photographed and thankfully there aren't too many of them. However, I realized while getting DS pictures together for his graduation slideshow presentation that I'm not in too many of our pictures. This made me a bit sad. In fact for the last few years we noticed with our picture taking there aren't people in our photos just landscape. So, we are going to try to change this from here on out. Life is too short and we need people memories!

  12. I hear you about the AC - I try to leave it off as long as I can every day and open a window to get some fresh air in the house. Then I think about the winter when I can walk on the beach and most everyone else is huddled inside with the heat on. :)

Oh, and I played the clarinet for awhile when I was a kid. Um, I guess I should use the word "played" loosely. Very loosely. :)

  18. So many questions Miss Pam-
I'm always my worst enemy. I'll have a hard boiled egg for lunch then have cookie dough after dinner.

As to cucumbers, I think they're best on a Vietnamese Bahn Mi. That's heaven in a bun for sure. Pls give my Goddog a big hug from me.

  19. Your cucumber is gorgeous. So what do you have on the ground around your plants. I keep meaning to ask you.
It is always so nice to read more about you.
I like to swim and I have always enjoyed it. It is going to be over 100 now for awhile so I am looking forward to swimming more. Not a big fan of the ocean either. I like looking at it but not swimming in it any more.

  20. I try to avoid cameras too. I guess that's why I always try to take the pictures.

I love the ocean too. Hubby likes to sit on the balcony and watch the ocean and I like to wade in it, but that's about it. I would love to live near the ocean.
