Farmhouse Chattin'

Bored? Got nothing to do? Busy, but want to have some fun? Hop on over to Everyday Ruralty and get in on some chattin'!

Everyday Ruralty

Questions
  1. Who do you look like in your family? Kind of a mix with a little leaning towards my mother.
  2. Would you rather read a novel, a poem, a magazine, or a how-to book? A novel. The poem I prefer to have read to me. Those are the only things I have to listen to rather than read for myself. I also find that having poetry read to me is quite romantic.
  3. Is there anything in your future that seems challenging, daunting, or "larger than life"? Either not right now OR I'm in denial...I'll have to think on this one.
  4. Do you have any big projects for this season? (DIY/household/craft or sewing/home business/ whatever you consider a project) There are so many things that need to be done around here that it has become overwhelming. Most of it is due to the husband dropping the ball on his end. Birdie is moving into an apartment soon and I'll be working of ridding the house of dog hair. That's a rather daunting task.
  5. Please finish this: It made me so happy to figure out the Smartboard in my classroom. Ok, let me re-phrase that: It made me so happy when those 4th graders showed me how to use the Smartboard in my classroom.
Today's Tuesday, and tomorrow is Wednesday. Let the Friday countdown begin!!!! WooHoo!

  1. I know smart boards are more efficient and do more, but I love a chalkboard. Remember the chalk holders teachers used to draw lines for handwriting? It held three pieces of chalk? No more chalk and pretty much no more handwriting. Boo.

Ok I'll stop. I'm sounding like my grandma. : )

  2. I have a lot of dust bunnies I need to chase out of my house, too!! :-) HOPE you have a great rest of the week!

  3. I love a good novel. The only poetry that gets read to me is things my girls write. I should put on my black chef's pants and drop by. Every piece of dog hair in your house would stick to me like a magnet to a refrigerator! I always used to go to work after using my lint brush. I'd save you a lot of work that way:) I'm glad the Smartboard comes with tutors- even if they are 4th graders.
Have a great week, my friend!

  4. LOL about the Smartboard! I'm not even sure I would know what a Smartboard is, but it is good that at least the 4th graders knew how to use one to teach you! You'll be getting rid of dog hair for months after the dog is no longer there! I think its a losing battle :)

  5. I think I'm more like my dad, without the receding hairline of course.

  6. I hear you about the projects, especially the household ones. The problem is that now the weather is getting nicer, I want to to be outside and not "working." :)

  7. I'm assuming that kids aren't cleaning chalk boards these days and taking the erasers outdoors to hit them against the sidewalk? LOL Isn't it amazing what kids have these days. Our two year old grandson scrolls through Netflix on the ipad to find Bob the Builder. Good grief!! :-)

  8. Isn't it crazy how kids know so much about technology?! It makes me feel like a dinosaur! I feel for you on cleaning up dog hair - I vacuum daily and it seems never ending. With all the dog hair I pick up you'd think she'd be bald by now!

Have a great rest of your week.

  9. Joyce- I do remember those things! And you're right about the handwriting. They just don't teach it anymore. I totally disagree with that. I have to wonder if that's just of the things they did away with to make time for some other things I disagree with?

Debbie- The dust bunnies are the least of my worries around here. You should see the dog hair! And I vacuum every single day.

Patrice- That used to be the case with the white cat we had. He never wanted anything from anyone until you had on black pants. LOL My tutors helped me again today!

betty- Don't tell me that! I was so excited that I was finally going to get my house all cleaned up! Now, I'm just sad. :) Thank goodness for those 4th graders- the Smartboard is a great thing. IF you know how to use it. LOL

Michele- HEY! How's everything going? I know I've been slack about getting over your way. But this job is kicking my ass. :)

MMS- I don't want to be working either. But I have GOT to get this dog hair out of here!

Judy-Nope. No more of that. I remember doing it though. It was a real treat to be chosen for that job! I know what you mean! Even as young as your grand--it's just amazing!

Arlene- It is! I know it's going to take some time but I'll be so glad when I get it out of here! Though I will miss them! Guess it'll be one of those mixed blessings.
