Nature in November

It's election day and you know what that means. Yep, NO SCHOOL!

So what's a lowly computer lab teacher to do on a day off from school???? IF she can get her sweet little dog to wait a bit longer before going for a walk, she grabs her camera and little dog and heads out to find nature.

And that's just what Tuck and I did this morning.

The sun beat us but there was a lovely fog still hovering as well as mist on the pond near the trail--- one of my favorite things about fall is the fog that we get and the mist rising off the water.

I love to see the sun through the oaks--

and through the pines as we get closer to the marsh. The temperature is cooperating lately so our walk was chilly enough for a big, comfy sweater.

The tide was in this morning---

The path was a bit foggy---

But it lifted quickly and Tucker didn't seem to mind. He loves going down to the marsh because I might take his leash off---

There are just too many things to see, smell and pee on to be restricted by a silly leash---

That's the Sullivan's Island lighthouse in the background---

The morning was topped off with a nice hot cup of coffee--

Days off are the best.

What are y'all doing this morning?

  1. Great fall photos, Pam. So glad you've got sweater weather. It does look beautiful there, including Tucker, of course. I'd love to visit your neck of the woods someday. It would be so cool to see the whole tide phenomenon. What a great place for a walk!

    1. Judy- Come on down anytime! We'll take walks and sit at the beach through an entire tide cycle. Though we might need one of those outhouses. LOL

  2. No day off for me! I'm taking a little break from too many numbers....

Love your marsh photos and your path to get there. Tucker is adorable! Glad you are enjoying your time off! Fingers crossed that the right people got out and voted the RIGHT way!

    1. That's one good thing about working in the schools- days off. LOL We shall see- I'm scared to look at the numbers coming in. Nearly everyone here needed to be voted out.

    1. Thank you! It is a great place to walk. Especially in the early morning when no one else is out there.

  4. Hopefully you also took the time to vote. Our state doesn't give the schools a day off for election day. We do have early voting which (as I wrote on FB) the best thing since Jimmy Carter.

    1. I'm not sure why we get the day off unless it's because most of our polling places are located in our schools and they can't have that many people going in and out with kids there. Voting. Yes. But it did no good.
