It's a Birthday Hodgepodge!

Spring Break has arrived and is already half-way over. I've been trying my best to slow it down, but time just keeps rolling on. At least, when school resumes, there will be only one nine week period left and we'll be out for summer. Until that darn robotics camp I offered to run begins. What is wrong with me?

Anyway, let's move on to a happier thought- the Hodgepodge!

1. In honor of the date...when were you last sent on a 'fool's errand'? I don't think I've ever been sent on a fool's errand. Except that going to Lowe's always seems like a fool's errand. No matter who's going.

2. Peter Rabbit, Bugs Bunny, The Energizer Bunny, The Easter Bunny, Rabbit (Pooh's friend), White Rabbit (of Wonderland fame), or the Trix Rabbit...which of these 'famous' rabbits can you best relate to right now? I don't know...which one does everything for everybody and gets nothing in return not even a thank you?

3. When did you last find yourself scrambling to get something done? Explain. I tend to not scramble because I like to be prepared. It's not that I never scramble, I'm sure I do. Mostly, though, I think it happens at school when there is a last minute technology glitch that needs to be worked out immediately. But having to scramble because I wasn't prepared? That doesn't happen very often.

4. Last time you were up at the literal crack of dawn? Why? Last time you stayed up all night? Why? I haven't stayed up all night in YEARS! But I'm always up before the crack of dawn. I have to walk my pup before getting ready for school. Doggies first!

5. Crack a book, crack a bottle, crack a joke, crack an egg...which have you done most recently? The joke and the book are running neck and neck on this one.

6. What's your favorite part of a typical weekend? Tell us why that's so. The part that is furthest away from Monday because, it's the furthest away from Monday.

7. What's something I'd find on a bookshelf in your home? Other than a book I mean! Dust catchers.

8. Insert your own random thought here. It's my Deanie Girl's 28th birthday today! Happy Birthday, Sweetie! I love you!

  3. Happy birthday to your girl! We had three inches of snow yesterday, but my daughter in SC texted me a picture from her pool. So jealous! I don't need summer weather, but would love a little spring. Enjoy the rest of your break!

    1. My 'in-house' girls have been to the beach this week. It's not hot yet, but I know it's coming. Now that spring has sprung, I'm not sure I'd appreciated the snow as much as I would have a week or two ago. :) The worst part of the birthday is that she's not here to celebrate it.

    1. Haha! I thought you might. :) Thanks! Sure wish that one WAS at home. Why do the most unappreciative always come back instead?

  5. I don't always know how much is joking vs. how much is serious about your teaching career. So, let me say that teachers don't get the accolades they deserve, and I am sure you don't get enough positive reinforcement, but you do a very important job. I hope you are not just counting down the days til break all the time...and that you find some love in your work. Thank you for your career.

    1. Hahahaha! I love it! I don't love getting up and having to be somewhere every day at the same time BUT, once I'm at school, I'm in my element. I adore the kids and the people I work with are the best of the best. Even our admins are fantastic. The only problem I ever have comes from the higher ups. The ones who make the rules that we have to follow yet they haven't been in a classroom since they were students. And no, teachers don't get many accolades. Unless you count the hugs from the students and the way they light up when they finally understand something or when they finish something that took a lot of time and effort. That, for me, really is enough.

    1. Happy Birthday to your nephew! I wonder about why fools have a day. It seems, around here, that every day is fools day. Ha!
