Christmas 2011: Part 1- Boys, Sisters and MORE Oysters!

I decided to split the Christmas post into three separate posts. Otherwise, y'all would be looking at pictures through next week!

I am working diligently on catching up on your blogs so, if you haven't heard from me yet, I'll get there and leave comments ASAP!

Hope everyone had a marvelous Christmas!

Here's part 1 of ours- with a focus on- The Boys:

NickleAss had to leave us to go back to work and then home to Indiana for Christmas so we opened presents with him early. See the card Deanie is reading? NickleAss gave her a trip to Utah for skiing and a ticket to attend the Sundance Film Festival. WHAT?!

I knitted everyone a vintage stocking cap for Christmas. This one was for NickleAss. I think he liked it, but I'm not sure. LOL

How cute are they?

Birdie is teaching herself how to quilt. She made this one for Evwardo. He loved it!

He gave Birdie---himself. What does that mean? Take a look at the next picture---

A nearly lifesize picture of Evwardo so Birdie won't be so lonely in Texas!

Fake Evwardo, Birdie, Real Evwardo!

This is what I made Evwardo. His stocking cap wasn't ready yet. We had to open gifts with him early because he had to fly with his family to his grandmother's house in- can you believe it-Indiana!

Of course they had to try the hat and scarf on Fake Evwardo.

So good to have Deanie and Birdie happily helping with the rolling of cheese and olive balls and sausage balls...

Hubs got another bushel of oysters just for Dad. He and my stepmom usually come for New Year's Eve but she has to have surgery on the 29th so they came early and Hubs surprised Dad with oysters! (Geez, run-on sentence much?)

Breezy and BestSonInLawEVER couldn't come back until Christmas Eve but at least Birdie, DoodleBug and Deanie were here.

Being all kinds of silly. As usual.

Dad brought his homemade chocolate chip cookies AND...

these evil delightfully delicious oatmeal raisin cookies that sabotaged me the first time I was losing weight. They didn't this time. Darn things are so good! But I didn't eat one! Until yesterday. And I had two. Now they're gone and I'm done!

To be continued...

  1. Love your part-one Chrostmas post!
It's great how your kids like helping in the prep., mine don't want anything to do with it!
Only 2 cookies is so very, very good...I'm in awe of your restraint.

  2. Betty- They were good but not good enough to sabotage me! Thankfully! This is our last day together so it's going to be rough.

Mimi- Thanks so much! They always help out with the food prep. We love hanging out together in the kitchen!

  3. Love reading about all your lovlies and that you had such a great time at Christmas!

  4. Hi Pam. Thanks for sharing your photos of what looks to be a very happy time. It must have been wonderful for you, having everyone together like that. I love the fake Edvwardo. How cool is that?! It all went far too quickly, don't you think?!

  5. Oh, what lovely pictures (as usual!) Your family are ever so photogenic. NickelAss and Evwardo seem VERY sweet on their Lovely-of-choice. Methinks you might be in for some engaging times in 2012 ;)
I'm so proud of you for exhibiting such self restraint. You really have conquered your demon, Pam. I need to start getting into combat with mine...'starting' is the hard part :)
    Big hug xoxo

  6. MC- Thanks! It was such fun. Unfortunately, today is the beginning of the end. Sad.

Diane- It was wonderful. But it starts ending today. And YES. It did go far too quickly.

Desiree- Thank you! We'll have to see what happens. But these boys are definitely keepers!

  7. Someday I want to say bestdaughterinlawever....someday, no hurry but love your family Pam. It is so awesome to see you all together, having a great time. YEAH!!! for family.
Take care and keep up the great work and thank you for you sweet comments today. I so love it when you stop by.
    Have a blessed day.

  8. the photos are great, your family looks like theyre so much fun!! Those choc chip cookies look like some i used to make long ago but i stopped makin em because i eat way too too many lol

  9. I love the life size cardboard cutout of Ewardo. What a great thing for her to have when she has to be so far away from him.

And as usual your house once again looks like party central; and that's a good thing.

  10. Such fun getting a glimpse of your great family! Glad you were able to all be together. Love the life size cutout. That was ingenious. Hugs.

  11. What a fun time! Great pictures!

  12. Julie- You'll get one soon enough! And she'll be awesome! And then there will be another female in your bunch! Yay! LOL

Carbie- Thank you! They are fun! I have been known to eat too many cookies myself!

Michele-I do too! What a fab gift! You're right- it is party central around here when the lovelies are home. It has always been like that around here! And we love it!

Barb-It was great! Sad part is happening now- they have to go back. Sad. Y'all gettin' all this wind up your way? It's kinda freaking me out.

    Laura- It really was! Thanks!

  13. Looks like fun was had by all!
Love the lifesize photo, what a cute idea. I wanted to just reach in and grab on of those cookies.
    They look yummy!!!

  14. Your family looks like so much fun! The guys fit in perfectly.I think the paper Edwardo is the most clever gift. Now you got me in trouble- Wendell wants to start making paper Wendells. I can't afford THAT much paper:)

  15. Oh, it looks like a fun Christmas and the Utah ski trip and Sundance Film Festival, WOW!!! I think she got a great gift!

    Those cookies looked yummy!

Anyway, it looks like your house was a fun time and now you have to adjust back to the quiet, we go through it too, I know how you feel.

  16. The life-size pic of Evwardo is too funny. The pic with the scarf on him looks so real, if you didn't say I would've thought so! Glad your Christmas was fulfilling judging by all the happy faces!

  17. I think I love your fam. Everyone seems happy, fun, funny... looks like everyone loves getting together. A huge part of that is great parenting... :) Merry Christmas to you and your fam!

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment! It makes me feel connected to everyone even though we may live far apart! Have a wonderful day!
