Chestnuts Roasting on a Hodge Podge

It's time for the Hodge Podge! Which means it's Wednesday! Which means Deanie will be flying in tomorrow!!!!! AND, tomorrow is the last day of school! Am I dancing the dance of Christmas joy? You bet I am!

1. How will you spend 'the night before Christmas'? With stockings hung by the chimney with care and with the lovelies all nestled in front of the fire and with glasses of Bailey's and smiles on our faces and love all around!

2.  What is one thing you are not?  Patient. Although I am WAY better than I used to be. W.A.Y.

3.  Fudge-are you a fan?  Your favorite flavor? I used to be a fan..no, probably THE fudge fan of all time. Not so much anymore- it's too sweet. But, back when I did love it, if it was bought in a candy store, maple was my favorite. If it was homemade, it was my mother's butterscotch.

4. Did you attend any craft/vendor fairs in the month of December?  Do you prefer homemade goodies or the more professional stalls? Are you giving any homemade gifts this year? I did not but only because I was too dang busy. I prefer homemade goodies for the most part. And, yes, I am giving homemade gifts this year. We tried this a couple of years ago and it stuck! The homemade gifts are our favorites now. Even my mother got into the act this year- I can't wait for the lovelies to get their homemade gift from her---it's post worthy so I'll put it up after Christmas!

5. What's your favorite type of holiday gathering? Our oyster roast is my favorite! It's this Saturday night and we are all looking forward to it! Everyone comes home and there are about 40 people coming over! WooHoo!

6.  We're approaching a new year...what's going to be different in 2013? I don't know. I have a lot of hopes about some personal issues that will be different, but you just never know.

7. Share a favorite scripture, quote, saying, or song lyric relating to peace. "You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one. I hope someday you'll join us. And the world will live as one." John Lennon (NOT my favorite Beatle, but I do like this lyric).

8.  Insert your own random thought here.Merry Christmas, y'all! And God bless us, EVERYONE!

  1. As always so nice. I am so excited for you!!!! You are going to have the best-est Christmas ever. I can't wait for lots and lots of photos. Okay, just a question what does one do at an Oyster roast? Remember I live inland in California. :)

  2. Kim- Oh gosh, we eat and eat and eat and maybe drink a bit (mostly beer, except me, I don't like beer) and enjoy each other's company! It's just a big 'ol party sort of like a pig pickin' just with oysters instead of roasting a pig. Does that help? Cause if not, you should just hop on a plane and get the heck over here!!!!!

  9. Funny about the fudge. I used to go out of my way to buy fudge when I saw it at the markets. But now, not at all. It's made of sugar. I just don
t want to eat that any more.

Merry Christmas to you, Pam. I hope that you have a wonderful time with your family.

  10. I used to be a fudge lover, too. It was my favorite candy ever. But now, I just can't imagine eating that much sugar.

Merry Christmas to you, Pam. I'm sure you will enjoy the family time - and the oyster roast. I'm looing forward to hearing all about it.
