Later On, We'll Be Chattin'

Good Tuesday morning y'all! It's a little too warm down here to sit on the porch and chat. Unless you prefer warm weather. In December. Which I do not. Anyway, it's probably nice and cool up there where Patrice lives, so let's go to her porch!

Everyday Ruralty
Questions
  1. What's your favorite ornament on your tree? If you have no Christmas tree, please tell me about something pretty in your home that you enjoy. There is absolutely no way I can narrow my favorite ornaments down to just one. Especially the ones the lovelies made when they were growing up. I am, however, quite fond of a certain Santa ornament created from okra. :)
  2. What do you do when a telemarketer calls? You don't even want to know.
  3. What was the last kind of candy you had? Admit it- you had one tiny little bite. We understand:) I buy the dark chocolate covered raisins and edamame from Trader Joe's and keep them at school. Does that count as candy? Because that's as close as it gets for me.
  4. Do you send out Christmas cards? If not applicable- do you use snail mail? I do send out Christmas cards. But, this year, since we couldn't all get together over Thanksgiving (we were missing Deanie) for the family picture, I'm thinking I'll be sending out Happy New Year cards.
  5. Please finish this. I sometimes wonder if there will ever be a way to slow down time- even though I'm pretty sure I know the answer.
Have a great Tuesday!

  1. Yes, my dear lady, chocolate covered raisins ARE candy. But I also think of them as health food because they are fruit after all. And we all know dark chocolate is good for you. So that is a very healthy snack. (At least I am going to tell myself that). I like the idea of New Year's cards. I may have to send a New Year's letter.

  4. Great answers for us today Pam! I couldn't possibly choose a favourite Christmas ornament either. Although I do still have one on the tree that we had when I was a little girl, over 60 years ago! Too warm on your porch indeed! Get yourself over to mine then, when it was 1 degree this morning!!

  5. I think the idea of a New Year card is a great one, especially if you have all the lovelies together for a picture! LOL with an ornament out of okra; I would love to see a picture of that!

If you could slow down time and bottle it, you would be RICH!!

  10. I've sent New Year's cards, too. Lots less hassle and the ones receiving the cards get a little pick-me-up after the let down of the holidays!!!

  12. Mamaw- I’m telling myself the very same. I have to do the New Year’s ones this time since everyone won’t be together until the 21st. That’s too late to do everything that’s involved with Christmas cards.

Kathy- I’ll try to remember to do that!

MKM- I sure will! Though, I wouldn’t hold my breath if I was you. It’s been a fruitless effort thus far.

Diane- Thanks! 1 degree????? How does that even feel???? We’re in the upper 60s today. Hopefully, we’ll get a cool down soon.

Betty- I have to send out a picture of everyone every year with a letter or else my extended family goes crazy on me. LOL

Marissa- It’s one of the prettiest ones I have. And it’s special because a dear friend made it for me.

Kim-Thanks! We don’t get out until the 21st. I hate it. Plus, the kids are all bonkers right now.

Michele- Yes! They’re sort of like chocolate covered peanuts!

    Debbie- That’s what I ‘m thinking.

Janice- Me too! I’ve never sent them before but I just don’t have the time and won’t have the photo until the 22nd. Thanks!

  13. Aren't chocolate covered raisins one of the basic food groups? If you find a way to slow down time, let the rest of us know, please.:)

  14. Patrice- I think you're right about that. :) I will, but I'm not holding my breath as all efforts thus far have been unsuccessful.

  17. -10 this morning, -8 yesterday and the highs in the single digit. I wore my long johns the past two days in the bus. I'll take your warmth. Tomorrow suppose to be in the 20's but right now it's -8 again.
Time will slow down when we reach 70-80-90's until then...well we do what we can do. There is never enough hours in the day. I came home tonight and finished up some eggshell ornaments, started on my washer necklaces, baked 4 dozen cookies and a loaf of beer batter bread. Now I'm sitting down but the drier just went off and I need to shower.
I like my raisins to look like raisins and my dark chocolate to have nothing hiding in it. But I had my candy in the form of some cookie dough. I know....bad, bad, BAD!!!!
Take care Pam. I'll be posting one of these days soon. I have to, I've got lots to share.
    Blessings my friend.
