The Best of 2012

Can you narrow down your memories of last year to only one that is the best? Not me. There were just too many good memories in our family.

We had birthdays- those glorious days when the lovelies were born. Those four days that made my life so full and rich and happy. Breezy turned 27 in January; Deanie turned 25 in April; Birdie turned 24 in October; and DoodleBug turned 21! Of course, the husband and I got older too, but we won't go into that.
  • Birdie moved back from Texas and got to go to London.
  • DoodleBug started her senior year in college
  • Our nephew and his sweet wife had a baby
  • I started working at the elementary school the lovelies attended
  • My dad completed his radiation and is doing well AND he got to go on a European vacay.
  • Everyone was together for Christmas.
Sure, there were some bleak times. But we made it through and, I hope, we are all the wiser/stronger for having the experiences. Though I hope not to have similar experiences again. EVER.

Besides, I'd much rather dwell on the good/happy/fun times.

As we face the New Year, none of us know what to expect. But we can be filled with the hope that 2013 will be a good, a GREAT year. OUR year. THE year.

A year full of miracles; positivity; love; laughter; peace; happiness; good times...

A year to beat all years. A year to grow and learn and experience.

Wishing all of you your best year yet!

  1. Thanks for the nice upbeat post. It is full of great things to remember. Every day. To look at the positives that are everywhere around us. You are off to a great start to 2013

  2. May 2013 be the best year ever, Pam!! And boy, you were busy when your girls were little!!! My MIL had the last four of their six kids SIX years apart. lol

  3. We are blessed...if only more people realized it!...:)JP

  4. Yay! Hope 2013 is a good one, I've a good feeling about it.
My best memory of 2012 is probably being at the Olympics in London; I met some friends tonight and was re-living it recounting the fun we had and how "once in a lifetime" it all was!
I agree with you to focus on the good times and forget the bad ones.

  5. Kim- Thank you for your kind words! I'm determined to make this a positive year!

Judy- Thank you! Indeed I was, which is one reason suddenly coming to a halt was so difficult. Whoa. SIX years apart? No thank you. LOL

    JP- Amen sista!

Mimi- I do too! I remember your London posts- I quite enjoyed your trip vicariously. :)

  6. You are always so positive!

My best memory is our trip to Newfoundland and Labrador. It was fabulous! I wonder what 2013 will leave in my mind?

  7. Great things to remember ... such a hope-filled post..

  8. Hi Pam. I really enjoyed this positive post. So many happy times you enjoyed during 2012. I'm with you - let's hope that 2013 will be a special year and kind to all of us. Happy new year to all in your lovely family my friend.

  9. Stephanie- I try to be that way, but the negative slips in and I haven't figured out how to stop them...yet. Will we be seeing more fabulous vacation photos from you this year?!

Kathy- Thank you! I'm trying to keep the negative at bay. It's not always so easy. But I'm determined.

Diane- Thank you! I have so enjoyed the pictures of your lovely grands on facebook! Particularly the Santa and skating ones! Too cute!!!

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment! It makes me feel connected to everyone even though we may live far apart! Have a wonderful day!
