Hodge-A-Podgey

Happy Hump Day people! Although it feels like Monday or something like that because I'm all messed up due to the day off on President's Day. Good thing Joyce hosts the Hodge Podge to keep me straight!

1. When were you last 'on a mountaintop'?  You may answer in the literal or figurative sense. I'd better stick to the literal sense and keep my figurative sense to myself. It's been YEARS. I think it was in the mid 1990s and it was Mount Mitchell in NC.

2.  Do you establish and maintain a strict budget in your household?  What is one piece of financial advice you would offer someone just starting out on their own? Hahahahahaha! What's a budget? LOL Seriously, what's a budget? I guess my financial advice to someone just starting out on their own is- find out what a budget is.

3.  Cherries-yay or nay?  Cherry pie, cherry cola, black forest cake, or a scoop of Ben and Jerry's Cherries Garcia...pick one. YAY!!!! Cherry pie!

4.  Should you ever discuss religion or politics with people you don't know? I don't even discuss those things with people I DO know. Sheesh. Ok, seriously, I'll clarify that- I do discuss these things with some people I know but not usually with a stranger if they are of a different opinion. NOT because I'm shy or afraid of a debate but because, for the most part, people are not usually open for a debate. They seem more open to bashing my opinions and wanting me to see it their way and not the least bit interested in my views. So I bite my tongue. A lot.

5.  When you take a road trip do you prefer to be the driver or the passenger?  Where were you headed on your last road trip? It depends on who the companion is as to whether I'll drive or ride along. The last time we went on a road trip we were heading to a wedding in NC.

6. If we peeked inside your closet, what color would we say is most prevalent? Black. With the occasional hint of gray and brown. My wardrobe is not very colorful at all. But I like it that way.

7. Who's your favorite senior citizen and why are they special? My dad. Cause he's awesome! And fun and funny and quick witted. He never complains and he goes with the flow. He's fun to talk to and is quite entertaining. He's the one to smooth the roughness in rocky relationships. He's outspoken but not in an arrogant or obnoxious way. He's a bit temperamental but I like that- and yes, that's exactly where I get it.

8.  Insert your own random thought here. Having a random thought in my head while I might or might not be sitting at school right now is just not possible. How lucky are these kids that they have such a focused instructor in the computer lab? Ha!

Hope everyone is having a great Wednesday! We sure are!

  4. April- I nearly bit mine off today. But then I decided to just let it out. LOL

Debby- Isn't it great to have such wonderful dads? Lucky us!

Kathy- Thanks! I am a lot like him. Especially the temper thing. That's one he wishes I hadn't gotten from him. LOL

  5. Remember when debates used to be lively instead of mean-spirited? When we could solve big problems because we tried to see things from all angles instead of just our own? It just doesn't happen anymore. Sigh.

Your dad sounds special : )

  6. My last time on a mountaintop was in Austria skiing, and it's been waay too long, 4 years ago. O really hoped to go this year, but daughter and I can't get enough synchronised time now she's at college. And it seems like the internet is laughing at me, with questions like this and photos pf people skiing. Not fair! Boo!
Enjoyed your answers, and laughed loudly at some of them!
