Hodge Podge Hippity Hop

It has started out to be an interesting morning here on this chilly Hump Day. While running at dark o'clock, Tucker did a  zigzag right in front of me and I did a face plant. Right on the concrete. First thought- Is Tucker ok? (He's fine). Second thought- I have to get up from here and go to school. Third thought- Crap! I just fell!

It's all good except for my left knee. My last thought was- I'm so glad I run before the sun comes up and other people come out. How embarrassing! :)

It's time for one of the things I always look forward to with a positive attitude is the Hodge Podge! A big 'Thanks!' to Joyce for hosting this for us every Wednesday!

1. What are your plans for Easter? Are you cooking a big lunch or dinner?  Dyeing eggs? Attending a sun rise service?  Eating too much chocolate? For the very first time in YEARS...DECADES....I have ZERO plans for Easter! And I am thrilled about it! I've been so busy at school and spring break begins Friday. I love knowing that I don't have to do one single thing until break is over! I doubt I would be quite this excited if the lovelies weren't coming home for a wedding in two weeks though.

2.  What is something you feel too young to do? Join the senior center. Though I don't know why. Even those 20 years my senior can outdo me on some of those machines. Sheesh.

3.  "Love is patient, love is kind.  It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud...it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs..."

Of the characteristics mentioned in the biblical definition of love which do you find most difficult to live out and why? I don't know. Probably the easily angered one. No, no. The last one- I can keep a record of wrongs. I am the Master of keeping those records. The Queen. The...you get it.

4. What's a springtime flower you associate with your childhood? Azaleas because my grandmother's yard was full of them in all colors!

5.  Ever sung karaoke? If so, what's your go-to song? If not and you're given the opportunity, would you? No. Trust me- NOBODY wants to hear that.

6. What is something you keep in a basket? Tucker's toys and the husband's supplements. And the kitchen towels. And...LOL I do like baskets.

7.  When was the last time you felt foolish? A few weeks ago. And I'd rather not revisit it. When I feel foolish because of something I did myself, I can deal with it. I'm actually used to it. But when someone else does something that makes me feel foolish...let's just say I'm not a fan. It leads to trust issues and tends to change the relationship I have with that person.

8.  Insert your own random thought here. Tomorrow is the last day of school before spring break! We have a Wellness Walk and Field Day. All. Day. Long. But it'll be fun!!! Even though it's cold which is disappointing to everyone but me. If it was hot outside, I would have faked illness and not even bother to show up. Seriously, I'm not a fan of hot weather. Honestly, I'm very appreciative of this cold snap. I know what's coming.

Have a great rest of the week, y'all! And a most wonderful Easter weekend!

  1. We have no plans, kids will not be here. I want to go out to eat but hubby wants to stay home. We have never ever gone out to eat for a holiday and I want to. I am easily angered :( I use baskets all around the house. Hooray for Spring break...

  5. Glad you're okay..I find when I fall these days getting up is not what it used to be : )

Keepin that master list seems to be a common theme among the HP participants...I guess that is something everyone struggles with.

    Have a fabtabulous break!

  7. Happy Easter to you and all your lovely family, Pam. I'm sorry about that fall, but just glad that it wasn't any worse. Bet it shook you up for a minute though! Sometimes it's nice not to have any plans and to just be able to relax a little. And, of course, you've got the wedding to look forward to when you will be reunited with your lovelies!! Take care.

  10. I just want to know if Tucker's toys and your husband's supplements are in the *same* basket. :-) Always love reading your Hodgepodge. And I'd also like to hear you do karaoke. Hope you have a great weekend! From me, the snow hoarder. ;-)

  13. Debby- We’ve never gone out to eat for a holiday either. But this would be a good year to give it a try. I’m stuck at home today because of the knee…so I guess it’s good we don’t have any plans. LOL

Jennifer- NO! That’s just ridiculous! At least your heat is a dry one---isn’t it? The humidity around here makes the heat suck even worse. I’m not looking forward to it.

    Retired- Thanks! I plan on doing…NOTHING! Ahhh…LOL

Nikki- Nice to know I’m not alone in that one. LOL You have a happy Easter too!

Joyce- Thanks! Girl, don’t I know it. I just stayed sprawled out on the sidewalk praying that I’d be able to get up and make it to the car. Now I’m stuck at home because I can’t bend the knee enough to get into the car. Sigh. I noticed about the list. Have a wonderful time with your girlies this weekend! Can’t wait to see the pix!

    Gail- Thank you!

Diane- Thank you! Same to you and yours! I’m looking forward to seeing everyone for the wedding and I’m glad I didn’t make plans this weekend since I’m stuck here in the house off my knee.

JP- I’m so glad! Hey, Jessica is back up and running. She’s having a hard time right now.

Kathy- No, it’s a strained LCL so I’ll be fine. Thank goodness! Hope you have a wonderful Easter too!

Judy- (AKA, snow hoarder…LOL) Haha! No, separate baskets. Only because I don’t want Tucker getting into the supplements. I don’t think you’d like to hear me do karaoke. Seriously, you wouldn’t.

Alessandra- I’ve been looking forward to spring break since Christmas break was over. LOL But I wasn’t looking forward to spending it sitting down and staying off my knee. Sigh.

Cathy- Thanks! Happy Easter to you and yours!
