Chittin' and Chattin'

The summer days are flying by. I didn't think they were at first but, now that it's July...yep...flying by.

The good news is- Patrice meets us on her porch for some relaxing chats! And, if we get lucky, we might even get to chat with the Wonderful Wendell!

BTW- Happy 100th Chats, Patrice!

Questions
  1. What's the best advice anyone ever gave you? I'm not sure. I know I've gotten good advice but, for most of my life, I've been surrounded by people who have barraged me with unsolicited advice and I've sort of learned to tune advice givers out. That being said, I'm going to go with something I learned from my Granddaddy- not by what he said but how he lived: enjoy the children while they're young, the house work will wait, their childhood won't.
  2. Do you have houseplants? I have two. One I have because I'm stuck with it but the other one is a lovely Christmas cactus that a kindergarten teacher at school gave me 6 or so years ago. I love that thing and I have not killed it. Yet.
  3. Do mosquitoes bother you or leave you alone? I HATE those things. They are so thick where Tucker and I try to walk that I can feel them when I swing my arms. It's ridiculous. And they LOVE me. Because I'm so sweet and all. ha!
  4. What's your favorite charity? If you have one. I prefer those that help give a voice to those who cannot speak for themselves such as abused children and animals.
  5. Do you like mint? Which variety is your favorite? Sort of but not really. If I'm going to have it I prefer Spearmint in gum. I won't turn down mint chocolate chip ice cream either. :) But I don't use it or have it in anything else.
Have a great rest of the week!

  1. The 100th chat? That's amazing! Everytime I see chittin' and chattin' I think of 'movin' and groovin' - who knows why. Just a brain malfunction, I think. I can't believe how fast summer is going, especially since we jut got spring! Have you tried one of those little doohinkusses you put on your belt that emits a mosquito repellent? I so agree with the kid and dog thing.

  2. Mosquitoes stay away from me most of the time but here in Southern CA we don't have issue with them. I have a few houseplants but there was a time when I had a few hundred in the house! That was before we had children :)

  4. Your advice is sooo true. Now that our one & only is about to head off to college, I'm feelin' & replayin' her childhood a lot more that I ever thought I would. Sob-Sob...I'm excited for her & sad for me...What's a momma to do now? Have a blessed week :O)

  7. Too much advice can be a bad thing. I hate skeeters too. I went berry picking on our farm this morning and I had plenty of company. If only mosquitoes could suck fat!
