Springing into the Hodgepodge

The weather here is still flip-flopping. And I don't mean the shoes. Really warm one day, freezing for two. It's NUTS. But it's like that everywhere, so I hear. We just lost our teacher workday so we can make up one of the four snow (but really ICE days) we had last month. God forbid we not come to school exactly 180 days. Idiots.

Meanwhile, I've got the Hodgepodge to keep me focused and smiling!

1.  Thursday marks the first day of spring...to celebrate would you rather plant a garden or go for a walk in the woods? Would either of those activities be possible on Thursday where you live? A walk in the woods for sure. And yes, both activities would be possible here on Thursday.

2. When did someone last spring something on you? (or when did you last spring something on someone?) DoodleBug sprung it on me that she isn't moving back out in May. I may never get my nice, clean, empty house back.

3.  We often think of spring as a time for new beginnings. What's something you'd like to start doing this spring? Yoga. I actually started a few days ago, but it's my new thing. The relaxation and peace it brings are off the charts!

4. Where do you like to sit in a movie theatre? When did you last sit there, and what were you watching? I haven't been in YEARS but, when I did go, I liked sitting about a third of the way back from the front in the center. I can't remember the last movie I saw. Ha! Must have been a dud. :)

5. When you meet someone for the very first time, what do you want them to think about you? I don't know. I've never thought about that.

6. March is frozen food month (yes, really!). Besides ice cream (gotta make you think a little) what's your most often purchased frozen food item? Probably frozen, organic broccoli. I don't buy much frozen food.

7. What's something you avoid? People I don't like. I avoid them like the plague.

8. Insert your own random thought here. Well, y'all, we're two days less than two months away from the wedding. All is flowing nicely. We have bridal portraits this weekend. We're going downtown. If any of y'all have been here (Charleston, SC) you'll know exactly why we are taking the photos down there.

Anyway, in less than two months I will have two married daughters. And someone might want to consider giving their sisters a niece or a nephew. ;)

Have a wonderful rest of the week, y'all!

  1. I am glad that you mentioned Yoga. I have found myself getting more and more stressed and irritable since my daughter moved back home. My husband and her love to banter back and forth and it drives me crazy. So I guess I will be trying some beginner yoga. I have to start somewhere right..lol.

I absolutely loved Charleston, SC. My sister-in-law and brother used to live not to far from there and it is certainly beautiful.

Hope you have a wonderful rest of the week as well.

  2. I suspect that 'wedding' is the main thing on your mind these days. What an exciting (and exhausting) time! Hope it's wonderful. Good luck with the yoga.

  3. I have been to Charleston a couple of times, and understand completely why you want to do photos there!! I have a few friends who do yoga and love it. My knees won't allow me to get on the floor, let alone into some of those positions. I would enjoy it, though, if I could.

  4. I love the little plug there at the end : ) I am actually going to be in Charleston in May as daughter1's boyfriend is graduating from MUSC and we're invited. I wonder if it's the wedding weekend? We'll be running, meeting the family, med school graduation, etc.... it would be fun to meet in person!

  5. I have never tried doing yoga, but was debating if I want to give it a go.

  6. We've followed your lead, been told if we get snow and we close school, we'll have to work up the days. It is ridiculous!
You may never get my nice, clean, empty house back, but you do get to keep your Doodlebug!!
I'm into meditation (Deepak Chopra online) at the moment, and love the relaxation it brings.
    Lovely to see you again!

  7. The only way we'll be planting in the garden is if we dig down to the dirt, sit bare ass naked on the frozen dirt and wait for it to thaw and then can chisle a hole and put the seed in and than throw the frozen lump I just chisled out onto it it and pray that they little bugger can hold it's breath until it's warm enough to grow. There's 4' of snow on my garden and at least that much in the woods so no walking in there either. At least not for another month or so. Enjoy your warmth.
Have a great weekend with pictures and wedding plans. A most awesome weekend ahead.
Take care Pam and have a blessed day!

  8. Life is so much easier and less stressful if I avoid the people I don't like. Good thing for me I just moved to a new town and I don't know anybody yet! Enjoy your week.

  9. I've been doing yoga too lately! I really like it. I've been using a video by Tamal Dodge - something about his voice is so relaxing... I want to meet him and go to a class in person. Maybe that's a good reason for another CA trip, lol :)

  11. Ya know…some thing about our lives are really so much alike it's eerie! Although, my last IS moving out as she is the last to get married and as far as I know that is still on! So what's the date for your wedding…ours is May 24. The house is in shreds from renovations and as it's the first wedding I've ever done (I'm past master at rehearsal dinners) I'm ever on edge. Highly recommend Yoga…lol if I ever get the time alone I will be posing myself!
    Big Hugs~
