Do Something

Some of you may know that, when you teach, there's not always enough money for all the materials you need to engage those creative minds. I don't know of one single teacher who doesn't spend his/her own money for some of these materials. Which is why I am grateful for sites such as Donor's Choose that provide a way for teacher's to receive donations for materials we would otherwise never see.

I have had several projects funded through Donor's Choose. The latest one is for a COLOR PRINTER for our computer lab. Is this a PLUG FOR OUR PROJECT? No- though if any of you WANTED to donate, we surely would not turn it down. :) The purpose of this post is to introduce you to an organization that I discovered when several members made donations to our project.

I noticed that several people from an organization called had donated to our cause. So I decided to check them out. I was impressed. And I told them I was going to blog about them.

Here's why:

This is a non-profit organization that inspires young people to get involved in their communities. Further, it provides resources to act on those inspirations. Kids and young adults can volunteer their time, ask for advice and/or funding to get a beginning project started. This is a positive, free, encouraging site devoted to promoting social action. I LOVE THIS GROUP! LOVE. THEM.

AND- three of these delightful young people came over to Donor's Choose and donated to our color printer project! How sweet was that?!

Please give them a visit at They're always accepting donations just like we are when we have a project over at Donor's Choose. :)

  1. And for what better cause could a donation be made?

    1. Did you visit their site? Isn't that awesome?! A place to teach teens and young adults how to be social activists!!! LOVE IT!

    1. That is the coolest site for teens and young adults. I love that they are learning to be social activists. Imagine how this could lead to them changing the world for the better!

  3. There really are good kids growing up in our world these days. What a shame that we have to look for them so hard. We need to be singing about this from the rafters! Thank you for calling this to our attention!

    1. I agree! It seems that the troubled ones get all the attention. It's a pleasure to put this out there!

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment! It makes me feel connected to everyone even though we may live far apart! Have a wonderful day!
