Confusion and the Hodgepodge

Good Morning, y'all! Guess who's having a time figuring out what day it is? Yep. I am. School is out and I am already lost. But only on the days of the week. I'm spending a lot of my time working on projects that have been on the back burner due to my school schedule. Thank goodness we have the Hodgepodge. At least I know when it's Tuesday and Wednesday!

1. I read here a list of 13 things you should do in June. I'm paraphrasing a little but basically...

Go on a road trip with your best friend, pick fresh strawberries, host a garden party, take a morning run, treat yourself to a flower bouquet, spend a whole day hiking, discover a new coffee shop, try a new ice cream flavor, read at least one book, visit a Farmer's Market, make a swing for your home, and visit a new city.

Which thing on the list do you most want to do? Road trip! Of the activities mentioned, which one holds the least appeal? Treating myself to a flower bouquet. How many on the list will you attempt in June? I don't run anymore but I do take morning walks so, that one. Going to the Farmer's Market is one of my favorite things to do so, that one too. I'm always reading books. What's one thing you'd add to the list? Host a baby shower for DD3 who will be a mommy in July!
2. What's something you could do today to feel more peaceful? Live by myself. Oh, today...sit on the deck and watch Tucker watch the squirrels.

3. June 7th is National Chocolate Ice Cream Day. Are you a fan? Yes. Swiss mocha, rocky road, chocolate chocolate chip, peanut butter and chocolate, or a dish of plain chocolate...what's your pleasure? Plain chocolate. Although, I ate Publix organic salted caramel instead. :)

4. If you came with a warning what would it say?
Approach at your own risk.
Unexpected explosions likely.
Does not like people.
Will correct grammar.

5.What's the most interesting website you've visited in the last week? I read this at BuzzFeed. I don't know where to start.

6. Spring, summer, autumn, winter...which season are you? Fall and winter. Why? I find them to be beautiful and peaceful and the weather isn't unbearably hot.

7. "You lose sight of things...and when you travel, everything balances out." ~Daranna Gidel

Would you agree with that sentiment? Maybe. Explain why or why not. The way I take it is that when you look around and observe the world around you, you may realize that your circumstances aren't all that bad or, at the very least, something that you can change. Or maybe you'll find that you are ok with the way things are after all. Just stepping back and changing your view for a bit can make all the difference. If it's referring to actual travel however, I don't know.

8. Insert your own random thought here. It's so nice, and confusing, to be out of school. I've lost track of the days and I've only been out since Thursday. Ha! This weekend is the big shower for Birdie! The lovelies and I are so excited. We're just a bit over one month to the due date. There's going to be a sweet baby girl in the family again soon! I'll keep y'all posted!

Have a great rest of the week, y'all!

  1. When hubs was (briefly) retired we'd wake up in the morning and I would say-Good morning. Today is Wednesday : ) Or as he liked to say...everyday is Saturday. Except that only works for a while for me because I need a bit of a schedule. I'm with you on the news report. No words.

    1. I can see that I'm going to need some sort of schedule as well. I think that will come automatically when I start keeping Baby M every day. :) I find that whole situation with the rape completely and deeply disturbing. It's 2016 for goodness sake. I can't believe we're still fighting this battle and the whole race thing. When will people stop?

  3. Does Tucker go crazy over the squirrels? Skye hasn't meet one yet but we had our dogs in Illinois who went crazy over them. I'm going to be in Florida next week so Publix will be available to me and I'm going to have to try that Organic Ice Cream. Enjoy the baby shower. I can't think of a better kind of party to go to...all the precious baby things, everyone oohing and ahhing!!!

  4. Can't wait to hear about the shower and see some photos in person in a couple of weeks!! That story on BuzzFeed is sickening. Hard to believe it is even true but I've been reading about it all over the internet (which doesn't make it true, but no one is saying differently). I enjoyed your HP!!

  5. I read that letter from the Stanford victim, too. It left me not knowing what to say, either. Such a sad, sad thing.
