Happy Hodgepodge

Goodness, the holidays just flew by, didn't they? It's always good to have the Hodgepodge waiting for us when the excitement dies down. AND- we have our first birthday of the week! Yep, there's another one on Friday. It's birthday central around here!

1. Share one favorite moment/memory from your Christmas holiday. The moment everyone was home AT THE SAME TIME!

2. What was the best thing you ate over the holidays? That's hard to say. Probably something from New Year's Eve...crab pie? Or New Year's Day...she crab soup? IDK, it was all good! Was it homemade or store bought? Everything we eat during the holidays is always homemade from scratch! If it was homemade did you make it? Yes, I did.
3. What was one of the most beautiful things you saw over the holidays? This:

Daughter who lives far away with Baby M.
4. What does fresh start mean to you? Trying again without the baggage.

5. On a scale of 1-10 (with 10 being very positive and 1 being not so great) how would you rate 2016 in terms of personal achievement and well being? 4, I guess. Explain. I chose 4 because I didn't achieve one single thing. Except becoming a grandmother and that was not due to anything I did. Ha! I certainly didn't do anything to improve my well-being. So, 4.

6. Every January 1st since 1976 Lake Superior University has published a list of words they'd like to see banished from the Queen's English. Words may be banished due to misuse, overuse, or just general uselessness. Go here to read more about how the words were chosen or, if you're like me, to find out what in the world the word or phrase even means or the context in which it's used. There were quite a few on this year's list I'd never heard before.

Here's the 2017 list of banished words-

You, Sir-focus-Bete Noire-Town Hall Meeting-Post Truth-guesstimate-831-historic-manicured-echo chamber-on fleek-bigly-ghost-Dadbod-listicle-get your dander up-selfie drone-frankenfruit-disruption

Which word on the list would you most like to see banished in 2017? Any and all that add to the further decimation of the English language. The idea that the general population is stupid has never been more true than it is these days. What word or phrase would you add to the list? I think they covered it.

7. Large or small, light or deep, share with us one goal you have for the new year. I haven't set a goal. I don't do that. It's like making a resolution. As time passes, I try to do what pops into my head. Nothing has popped, yet.

8. Insert your own random thought here. I had 5 days of total bliss when everyone was here at the same time! Now, I'm trying to stay busy in an attempt to hold off the doldrums. Y'all can read all about and view photos HERE and HERE. :)

AND: Happy Birthday to my oldest lovely!

I hope everyone had a most wonderful holiday season!

Have a wonderful rest of the week, y'all!

    1. It really does make a difference, doesn't it? We didn't get Baby M on actual Christmas but that was just three days and she was back. I guess I can't complain. Wait...yes I can. LOL So glad you got to have yours with you! Baby M will be 6 months on Saturday. They are very close in age! Have a wonderful Wednesday!

    1. Isn't she the cutest? :) It was even better when we realized we put the bottom cushion in the back and the back cushion in the bottom. LOL You're right- it was a blur. I'm missing it! Thank you! Have a wonderful Wednesday!

  3. Happy Birthday to Breezy! And that photo of the Lovelies and little Marcy is just adorable. I agree that the best thing ever is to have the whole family together. That's why I try to create that scenario a few times a year. My August birthday, Thanksgiving (celebrated in October) and Christmas are such good excuses that so far no one's refused the opportunity. But I'm trying to think of something in mid winter that would draw everyone here. Or maybe someplace warm. LOL Did I already say that your daughters are just gorgeous? And I don't say that about just any ole daughters. Have a great 2017, Pam. Looking forward to more pics!

    1. I try to create it, too but it's so hard for Ben and Claudia to get here between her job and the band traveling and such. It sure is great when it happens, though. You want somewhere warm? Head this way. LOL Thank you, Judy! I think they are but I'm biased. :) Stay warm up there! Surround yourself with kitties! :)
