1. Security or freedom? I lean towards freedom. Can you have both? That depends on your definition of freedom. Explain. If I start explaining where I stand on this issue it's going to get out of hand. I get both sides but I have my own opinion and it's LENGTHY because there might be an internal debate involved. LOL
2. If you could visit any historical American site what would it be? Like a museum? I'd go to the new National Museum of African American History and Culture. Why? Why would I not? If you're not referring to museums, I wouldn't mind visiting the Statue of Liberty but I'm not going up in that thing because that's a long drop.
3. Free as a bird, free reign, be free of, free enterprise, free trip, walk away scot-free, free for all...which 'free' phrase can best be applied to your life in recent days or weeks? I don't think any of these apply to my life right now. Explain. I'm in a wanna-be-free-as-a-bird-be-free-of kind of place IF that makes any sense at all.
4. Something in your fridge that's red? Watermelon. Something in your house that's white? My comforter except for the spot Tucker walked on with dirty feet. Something in your view that's blue? My 'work shirt.'
5. July 27th is National New Jersey Day. Have you ever visited The Garden State? Nope. If so where did you go? I've never been. Are there diners where you live? Not in my town but in the area, yes. Have you tried Taylor Pork Roll? No. I don't really 'do' pork. Do you like to play Monopoly? Only when I'm winning. Saltwater taffy-yay or nay? Not anymore but Grandmother and I used to love it. I especially loved to watch the angels on earth (candy makers) make it and I have even tried my hand at homemade. How do you feel about shopping at the mall? HATE. It. Springsteen, Sinatra, or Bon Jovi-you have to pick one. Sinatra. No-brainer.
Raise your hand if you know why these add-on questions are appropriate on National NJ Day. I'm assuming they all have origins in NJ.
6. Insert your own random thought here. Empty nest summertime---
Have a great rest of the week, Y'all!
Oh my, I have lived/been in other places where that meme could apply. Orlando was definitely one...especially when I was pregnant. Ugh!
ReplyDeleteSinatra is the last one I'd pick, but he's the only one of the three I've seen in concert. Go figure!
Adorable kids and adorable pics. I'm enjoying having my youngest grand around this summer, too.
Have a happy and blessed Fourth!
When people ask me to come to Florida I always tell them I'm not going anywhere hotter than it is here. LOL I never got the appeal of Springsteen or Bon Jovi (except for his activism) but Sinatra was a huge part of my childhood as my parents had his albums along with a thousand others. Ha! One of my many playlists includes him with all the other crooners of that era. Aren't grands the BEST?! Such fun!
DeleteGreat answers! We are having that same humidity here in PA right now - but I refuse to complain because winter was wayyyyyyy too long this year!!! Happy Wednesday!
ReplyDeleteWe had one week of winter. One. Week. I was so disappointed because I knew this would happen. At least we did get snow during that one week. LOL Have a wonderful Wednesday!
DeleteOnly like Monopoly when you're winning. Uh, yeah!! Lol. I have two photos of our grandson playing, one where he's convinced he's losing and one where he just wiped my whole bankroll! Love the kiddo pics. And that intro: we're supposed to get 90s and high humidity this weekend. I couldn't live with those conditions too long. I'm all for 68-74 degrees and low humidity. That would be September and October. Stay cool, y'all!
ReplyDeleteHa, right? Back in the day, I attended a friend's wedding in Rochester, NY. The wedding was on July 31st and we were all there for the week before and I fell in LOVE with the place. It was 56 degrees in the evenings and I thought I'd died and gone to heaven. Of course, I also know I would have been out. of. there. come winter but still...the summer was nice. LOL
DeleteI was glad to finally see the Statue of Liberty a few years ago. Yes your #3 makes sense. What a fun summer. The kids are too cute!
ReplyDeleteHEY! How did I miss that you're getting a grandbaby?! Congrats! Tell me everything I missed. LOL
DeleteFreedom sounds good but I like to feel safe and secure, love all things history
ReplyDeleteI love history, too. I enjoy freedom and I feel safe. But I also feel a lot of shame from the way the leaders of this country are behaving.
DeletePam,
ReplyDeleteI'd like to visit the Statue of Liberty but I'm like you I don't think I want to go up in it...heck, you won't get me taking the ferry out to Ellis Island, either. I guess I'll have to be content with seeing her from afar if I should ever be that lucky. :) I hear you on #1. These questions spurred some randomness in a direction that if I went would surely ruffle some feathers. I'm trying to be careful to not cite any upheavals on my blog because I see too much of that on FB as it is. We're all entitled to our opinions but some folks just can't accept and move on without saying something rude, you know? Oh well...that's life for ya. Have a good week or what's left of it and a happy 4th to you! ;)
Yes, I do understand. I haven't spouted off on any social media or my blog for that very reason. I doubt I'd take the ferry to Ellis Island either. Drowning doesn't sound any more fun than falling. Ha!
DeleteThose grandkids get cuter in every picture I see.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
