Once Upon a Hodgepodge

Good Wednesday, Y'all! It seems summer was moseying along and suddenly, BAM! It's going to be over before we know it and that makes me very happy because summer heat is not my BFF as some of you might have figured out. 😂 We've had a birthday this month and we have one more coming up next week, one at the end of the month, and another one near the end of August. Summer is hot in temperature and filled with birthdays in our family!

It's Hodgepodge day around here. If you haven't tried it, today's a good day to do it! Just jump on in and have some summer fun!

From this Side of the Pond

1. I feel most energized when I throw some wheatgrass in my morning smoothie. Or have my coffee. But mostly, when the grands are around!

2. Where were you ten years ago? Right here. I'm always here.

3. July 17th is World Emoji Day. Do you use emojis? I do. Which one's your favorite? I don't have a favorite. Your most used? 😂

4. What song would you put on a wedding DO NOT PLAY list? 50 Ways to Leave Your Lover? Already Gone? You're No Good? Love Will Tear Us Apart? Cry Me A River? 😂😂😂 In all honesty, if I like a song I'm playing it whether it's at a wedding or not. But this was fun and the list could go on and on. I'll end with this one--

5. What deserves less of your attention? Worrying. More of your attention? Housework. Organization. But it all gets ignored because the grands get nearly all my attention and why wouldn't they? 😂😂😂

6.  Insert your own random thought here. When looking for pictures to share on the post today, I saw pictures of Bug over the last two years because she's a full out two-year-old now and I realized I was feeling a bit panicked at how quickly the last two years passed by. I'm fine with her being 2 but I'm a bit dreading the next few years because once you have raised your kids, you know what comes next--they're all grown up. I really need these two to slow their roll.

I woke up last week and this one turned 2:

And then this one who will be ONE in August did this yesterday:

Where. Does. The. Time. Go?

Have a wonderful Wednesday, Y'all.

  1. Look at him go! Ours is right there on the cusp. He stands for a few seconds unaided, but hasn't added the locomotion yet. He's a track star running around holding on to the furniture or his little walking toy though. You are so right about time. I say enjoy the grands and don't worry about the house right now. They'll be old enough to help you clean before you can blink : )

    1. I think he'll be running by tomorrow. LOL I never concern myself with the house when the littles are here. The problem is I never concern myself with it when they aren't here, either. LOL

  2. Those were all good song choices, and made me laugh :)
You are so right, our little ones aren't staying little for very long! Our youngest is almost 5!!!
I loved the video of your youngest one walking :)

  4. Your so right about grand kids. If you find the time stop in for a cup of coffee. I take part in a few memes on Wednesday

  5. Those two kids are such cuties! and I would think that none of the songs listed should be on any wedding play list! But I do love '50 ways to leave your lover' in a different context. It's just a cute song.

  6. Heard it was World Emoji Day but I rarely use emojis, Tim is a big user of them

  8. Great wedding song list...made me laugh! I enjoyed your answers to today's Hodgepodge. I'm going to miss Hodgepodge while it's on break. Do you participate in any other blog surveys like this one?
    Cheers.

  9. Best answer yet.....worrying!!! We don't need it and it doesn't deserve our attention. I like your list of wedding songs not to play.

  10. I did a post once (long ago) about songs for funerals. "50 Ways to Leave Your Lover" could be used for that list too.
The time when they are little goes by the fastest.
