The Week in the Proverbial Nutshell and a HOP!

I'm linking up with Cindy at For One Another for my week in a nutshell!  Head on over and join in the fun!  You have until Tuesday- so there's plenty of time!

And now, it's time for my week in a:

I joined the Slimmer this Summer challenge.  It started on Monday and runs through August 28.  Is it August yet?  I'm kidding.  I know it isn't August because, if it was, I'd be gearing up for some FOOTBALL!  No challenge updates until tomorrow.  I'm hoping that the scale and tape measure are kind.

The best news this week was from my baby brother, M- the wayward one- who seems to have finally found his place in the world.  He's going to marry his high school sweetheart!  He said he couldn't believe he had to wait until he was 50 to find happiness.  I told him to just be glad he found it---some people never do.  And so, in a few months, I'll have a new sister!  That's them on the right---I may have swiped that picture from her facebook page.

Birdie came over on Friday and we went to Old Navy.  I saw, on television, that they were having a sale on some cute summer shoes and we wanted to own some of them.  The shoes were WAY cuter on television.  The sale was better on television too.  We did not score any shoes or anything else for that matter.  I'm sure going to miss her when she leaves for Texas next month.  I am NOT digging this whole grow-up-and-be-so-smart-that-programs-offer-to-pay-for-your-masters-degree-and-let-you-be-their-head-athletic-trainer business at all.

Not much else going on this week.  I am getting excited about the end of June though-all the lovelies and their boytoys will be here for the entire weekend!  And my dad and stepmom.  And my brother, T, and his wife!  I can hardly wait!  One month later, DoodleBug's 20th birthday! And then, just a couple of weeks after that, FOOTBALL!

Have a fantastic week!  Stay cool if you can and SMILE!  It makes people wonder what you've been up to!

  3. Kelly-Thanks! I'm gonna need encouragement. I did remember someone saying something about a wayward brother- I would say that if my brother has found his peace and happiness, anybody can! Mike has traveled the worst and most difficult life paths available and survived. And yes, I am proud but I'm so going to miss her! None of them have ventured out this far yet. Thanks! Hope you do too!

  4. Congratulations on your baby brother finding his bliss. He's so lucky. You must be bad carb free for over 80 days by now. I am so happy/jealous. LOL.

  5. Michele- Thanks! He really is lucky! I've added healthy carbs back in the picture now- but no sugar or breads...only whole wheat pasta.

Betty-That has been happening to me for the last few days and it's annoying as hell! Anyway- I will do that! And thank you so much! Might want to strongly consider a different idol. LOL

  7. Something is up with Blogger itself. Half the time it boots me out of being signed in when I try and comment. Grr! If I wasn't so scared of changing over, I think I'd go to Wordpress.

Anyway... can't wait to see your progress!!
