HUMP DAY HOPS!

HUMP day is here which means it is FINALLY time for my THREE favoritey fun HUMP DAY HOPS!

If you're here for Chats on the Farmhouse Porch or Get Wired Wednesday only, then scroll down.

First up this week is WEDNESDAY HODGE PODGE from Joyce at From This Side of the Pond.  This meme is fun and sometimes even poses a challenge (read: she makes us use our noggins!).

1. What gives you goosebumps? When I am walking and I hear a noise behind me and I KNOW it's just the wind blowing a leaf but I still think it's a person following me. That just creeps me out! AND, you know how cats (and sometimes dogs) will suddenly stop and look at something that isn't there? Well, someone once told me that means they are seeing a spirit. That creeps me out too!

2. Halloween-are you a lover or a hater? Okay, that sounds harsh...Halloween-yay or nay? Halloween? YAY! We love Halloween and the lovelies totally enjoyed dressing up and trick-or-treating!

3. Can you respect someone you do not trust, and can you trust someone you do not respect? I do not respect people I do not trust. There are a few people I trust that I do not respect. Of course, by trust I mean that I trust them to screw up time after time after time. I trust very few people and I respect even fewer.

4. Apples or oranges? Yes, you have to choose. Most of the time, apples. Golden delicious apples are my favorites to eat. As a matter of fact, I just bought some yesterday!

5. What is something you wish was in your town? (shop, restaurant, attraction, etc) All four of the lovelies! We have just about everything else! Although, I wouldn't hate it if we got a Macy's!

6. What non-food item is in your refrigerator or freezer? In the freezer we have a couple of cold packs. I think everything in the fridge is edible. Or drinkable.

7. Are you at all superstitious? Yep. Whenever I say knock on wood I have to tap my head three times and I've never NOT done it because....well, you just never know! I don't walk under a ladder. I get creeped out when a black cat crosses my path. Let's just say I don't like to tempt fate. Oh, and I believe there are spirits among us. How do I know? We used to have cats. See #1, part B.

8. Insert your own random thought here.I'm not too full of randomosity today. But I am getting all excited
about the holidays! All the lovelies will be home! And having them home is all I can think about! I'm practically giddy!

Next up is a HUMP DAY HOP from Patrice at Everyday Ruralty called Chats on the farmhouse porch!

Questions

  1. Barbie asks: What's your favorite coffee drink? I don't have one because I don't like coffee.
  2. Dreaming asks: What's the chore you hate the most that you wish Blogger would come do? As often as Blogger messes up I don't think I'd want them to come here and do anything.
  3. Farm Girl asks: Why did you decide to start a blog? As therapy to get through the first months of having an empty nest.
  4. Suzanne asks: Who's your most famous relative? Daniel Boone on my dad's side.
  5. Cathy Kennedy asks: Have you ever given yourself a home perm? Nope. But I do color my hair. It costs too dang much around here---like $135 and up! I don't like the gray in my hair but I am NOT paying that much!
Last but NOT LEAST:
I'm wired are you?

  3. I'm the same way when I know my girls are coming home. I am trying to squash the excitement that is percolating just thinking about the holidays. It's still a little too far out there yet for me to completely lose focus at home : )

  4. Kathy-Today's hops were fun! I know, I can't wait for them to get here!

    Sherrie- Thanks!

Joyce- I know it's still out there but I have a bedroom to paint and redecorate before they get here for Thanksgiving so my time seems a bit crunched!

  6. Young one you and I are much the same. I've never had a cup of coffee. No matter how much milk and sugar I put in it it still tastes vile; and between apples and oranges- apples win out almost every time.

  9. 'Knock on wood.'
You make me laugh!! AND, I totally agree with number 1 there, the creepy things giving you goosebumps. When Kevin is gone at night, I sleep with a lead delivery system and a German Shepherd beside me!

  12. Hey, friend! I agree with you on my question #2!!! Daniel Boone- wow. All I could come up with was Wendell! My porch wouldn't be the same without you. I'm glad you include it in your Wednesday line-up. :)

  13. We get Macy's commercials on tv, but the closest one is in Atlanta...4 hours away! What is up with that???

  14. I'm so lucky to have my babies relatively close by. It's so fun when then all come home ~ I enjoy just sitting back and watching the three of them. Somewhere in the back of my mind, I can still visualize their little girl selfs and I'm just amazed at how quickly the time has passed.

  17. Cathy- Yes! I thought it was cool too! We had all heard tales about it and then my dad’s youngest brother put together our genealogy and found the proof!

Judy-Why is it that those noises NEVER occur when the husbands are home?! Tucker is beside me but, seriously, he’s 10 pounds soaking wet. LOL

Cookie- Thanks for stopping by! I agree- it is fun!

annie-I’ll hop over in just a few!

Patrice- Hey girl! I would just as soon have Wendell for my relative to be honest! Thanks! You’re too sweet!

Mary- The closest one to us is 2 hours away in Columbia. And we get the commercials too!

Donna- I visualize the same thing! I don’t know how the time went so fast. It seems rather unfair.

Leelee-I enjoy Wednesdays too. All of us empty nesters are going to LOVE the holidays with our babies back home!

  23. I love Halloween too! At our old house I would get at least 300 trick or treaters, our house we've been in for almost 11 years? We've had a total of 20 tricker treaters - how sad is that! :(

  24. Well I never heard of this...when a dog or cat stops to look at something that is not there...it's a spirit. Holy cow...that's scary and awesome to think about in fact. More scary tho. LOL

Ohhhhhhhh, you're going to have all your immediate family home?!!! What a blessing!!! I can feel your pleasure in the whole concept. What an enjoyable time will be had, I'm sure.

  28. Hello there, I am just getting around to visiting. I always enjoy reading about you.
Danial Boone, cool we are reading bout him in our History book. It sure would have been fun if he had looked like Fess Parker. :) He didn't wear coonskin hat either or so the book said. I felt shot down. :)
I hope you have a wonderful week,

  29. Betty- He was a pioneer/explorer/frontiersman. He explored and settled Kentucky. I'm glad they'll be home too! It will make my Christmas perfect!

Biz- We don't get too many anymore either. Most of the kids on our street have grown up and only a couple of us leave our lights on so most kids go to other streets.

Anni-It's particularly scary when it happens after someone tells you that! LOL Yep, the lovelies will be HOME! I can't wait!

Kara- Yep. He's our claim to fame! Thanks!

    Debby- Thanks! You too!

Nezzy-A diaper for a leaky fridge? Now that's a new one on me! LOL Thanks!

FG- RIGHT?! Me too! LOL I remember watching that and thinking that my ancestor was so cool. But, in reality, maybe not so much. But isn't that the way it always goes? :) Thanks! You too!
