It's a Breezy Day!

And by It's a Breezy Day, I mean-- it's BREEZY'S BIRTHDAY!

I could tell y'all how brilliant Breezy is- seriously, brilliant to the point of genius. Or I could tell you what an avid believer she is in our Constitution. Or I could tell you how talented she is- a writer of poetry and short stories, she plays the cello and guitar, she paints. Or I could tell you how she is THE comic relief in the family. Or I could tell you how outgoing, generous, loving, loyal, passionate, compassionate...that she is. Or how she is protective of her sisters to the point of...well, just don't mess with her sisters.

I could tell you how she's the lovely who's been with me the longest. And how she's the one who was often called acid tongue at the ripe old age of...two. And how she's been questioning authority without fear since the age of---three. And how she would argue a point to death even after winning a debate because she had "one more point to make." And how she entertained us all with getting things stuck on her fingers and falling after tripping over---nothing but air. And how, when she played basketball, would politely hand the ball to the defensive player trying to take it away from her.

But I won't. Instead, I've made a video that, hopefully, shows what a great kid she is.

FYI: The lovelies didn't grow up with Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star or The Itsy Bitsy Spider. Oh no. They grew up singing the Beatles; the Marshall Tucker Band; The Doors; Pink Floyd; Stevie Ray Vaughn; The Allman Brothers; The Grateful Dead--to name a few.  And so, the song I chose is one of Breezy's favorites and one of the first Grateful Dead songs her dad taught her to play on the guitar.

I'm sure she'd love it if y'all stop by her blog, The Blonde Oxymoron, with a birthday greeting!

Happy 27th Birthday my darling daughter! We love you more than you'll ever know--and then some!

  1. Well now, I'll be on my way to wish her a special birthday wish.

    Twenty-seven. Wow.

...and while I'm here, I would like to wish you a very happy new year. Hoping 2012 will treat you well each and every day.

  2. Happy Birthday to Breezy! My oldest was born in 84! Doesn't seem possible.

  3. Anni-Thank you so much! I wish you the same! I'm looking forward to more delightful posts over at your blog this year!

MC-Thanks! No, it really doesn't seem possible at all! Where, seriously- WHERE- did the time go?

  4. Betty- No, it's probably something I did. I'll go figure it out! Thanks for letting me know!

  5. Aw, see one MORE thing you and I have in common! My daughter Tawni's 28th bday was yesterday! She is our middle daughter of three...what is I cannot even grasp is that our oldest turned 30 this past summer. How in the world does it go by that fast???
I love your tribute to her and wish her the best of birthdays today!!!! :) I will head over and wish her one on her blog too!

  6. Good Job Momma!! It went by too fast didn't it.
Funny thing when Dad is a rocker like it was in my case, my kids grew up singing songs like that too.
I loved your little birthday video, what a great gift.
It made me cry but it was good tears.
Have a great day! My son just turned 26 so I had one right after you,
Only my oldest is 30 eek!!
The real meaning of life don't you think?

  7. I can tell you aren't one bit proud of all her talents and accomplishments. To top it off, she's pretty darned cute, too. Happy Birthday to Breezy!

  8. melody- 30? That's impossible. I refuse to believe it. You must have married when you were, like, 10! I don't know how it happened! I think we blinked.

FG-Yes, too fast indeed! I miss those days. The lovelies say they wouldn't have it any other way- that they didn't miss a thing not singing 'kids' songs. They certainly have a great appreciation for all genres of music. Oh, and you're not old enough to have a 30 year old either!

Stephanie- Yeah, I tried to hide it. LOL She is a cutie! Thanks!

Betty- Thank you for taking the time to come back and look at it!

    Debby- Thanks!

  9. Oh nothing like a Mother's love...Breezy is a beauty and you can see the joy she brings to all in her smiles.
Happy Birthday and I have children ranging in age from 34 to 24 eeks is right!

Diane- Thank you! She's such a great kid!

  19. Joyce- Thanks! I missed hodgepodge! Is it too late?

  20. Wow! Your kids were lucky! My kids grew up listening to disco, mostly. And television theme songs. My son used to tell his pre-school teachers a story 'bout a man named Jed.

  21. I bet it feels like a blink of an eye? Loved the video and she sounds like a delightful young lady! I am betting she had a nice birthday :)

  22. Pam, I SHOULD NOT have watched that video on the same day I said good-bye to my own daughter before she flew back to Denmark! I'm bawling my eyes out!!

Now, off to Breezy's blog to wish her a happy birthday.

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment! It makes me feel connected to everyone even though we may live far apart! Have a wonderful day!
