HUMP DAY HOPS!

Ready to get lucky with the Hodge Podge and do some Chattin' on the porch? Feel free to click on the links and join in the fun!

If you're here for Chats on the Farmhouse Porch only, then scroll down.

First up is WEDNESDAY HODGE PODGE from Joyce at From This Side of the Pond.  This meme is fun and sometimes even poses a challenge (read: she makes us use our noggins!).

1. St. Patrick's Day will be celebrated this coming Saturday...what's a favorite article of clothing you own that contains a touch o' the green? No green here. I mostly wear black year round. When the lovelies were coming along, my mother made us all shirts for every possible holiday/notable celebration day but now I just don't bother with it. I'll take it back up when I get grands!

2. What's a favorite 'green space' in the town, state, or province where you live? Green space? Around here? Ha! We better keep anything like that quiet or the developers will move right in and ruin everything. We do have a few county parks that are really nice and there's a water front park that's nice too. Other than that, it's the beach. Which is surrounded on one side by multimillion dollar homes.

3. Do you wish you were taller, shorter, or think you're just about right in the height department? When I was growing up I always wanted to be shorter because I was always the tall kid. And I hated that because I liked blending in not sticking out. Now? I think I'm just fine and am glad I'm not short.

4. What's the surest way for someone to pick a fight with you? That certainly depends on my mood. One day it might take nothing more than a 'Good Morning'. It also depends on who that someone is. There is nothing my BFF can say or do that will cause a fight. Hubs, on the other hand, is quite capable of picking a fight with me especially on certain subjects and broken promises (he's always promising things that he never does). The lovelies? I rarely if ever fight with them. Or my dad or my mom or my brothers. I will say, in my own defense, that it really is harder to pick a fight with me now than it used to be! Really!

5. Broccoli-Spinach-String Beans-Peas...of the four, your favorite green veg? (Or the one you dislike the least if that first option's too hard. I just know there's some veggie haters out there.)Honestly? I've NEVER met a green veggie that I didn't love! I love them all! If I have to chose one...I'll take broccoli. NO! Spinach. No! Beans. I mean Peas! You left out the lettuces, collard greens, zucchini, cucumbers, Brussels sprouts, celery...LOL

6. March is National Women's History Month...besides friends, neighbors and the women you're related to, who's a woman in history you admire and why? Eleanor Roosevelt. Brilliant woman way ahead of her time and married to a jerk but held it together and did great things for women and children and our nation. Abigail another brilliant woman, progressive thinker and doer. I have a list but I'll just leave you with those two.

7. Keep Calm and ____________on. You fill in the blank. Of course carry on is the first thing to come to mind. And the only thing because now I'm singing this in my head: (and now I'm missing my college daze...days...LOL)

8. Insert your own random thought here.I answered the questions last night so guess where I am now? AT THE AIRPORT! WooHoo! Guess what I'm doing at the airport? PICKING UP DEANIE AND BIRDIE! WooHoo!
Next up is a HUMP DAY HOP from Patrice at Everyday Ruralty called Chats on the farmhouse porch! Sometimes we get to visit with Wendell the wonder horse too!

This Week's Questions:
  1. What's your favorite type of chair? Oversized easy chairs. Love them!
  2. What was the last play you saw? I hate plays unless one of the lovelies is in it and then I tolerate sitting through one. The last one I saw was A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM when Birdie was in the play in high school.
  3. If you could spend an all expenses paid week in a cabin in the mountains, a cottage at the beach, or a townhouse in a city with lots of great attractions, which would you choose? Since practically live at the beach and am not a fan of crowds, I'll take the cabin in the mountains please.
  4. What's your favorite condiment? MAYONNAISE. Duke's please. And none other.
  5. What's your favorite breed of dog? I don't have a favorite. I absolutely love them all! Big, small, medium; long hair, short hair; I don't care! Just give me a dog!

  3. I can imagine your house today. A lot of LIFE and LAUGHS will be lived, I´m sure (I know the wording sounds wrong, but that´s what came out...haha). I´m so happy for you!

If I would live at the ocean I wouldn´t need any green spaces. Just give me WATER! :)

  6. I am SO with you on the green veggies! I’m glad I’m not the only one who actually lists celery as a veggie they like. My husband doesn’t care for the flavor of it in soup, so I don’t cook with it any more, I just crunch it raw, sometimes it’s a scoop for hummus or salsa.

I do have a someday dream chair for my living room. But there’s no room for a chair in our living room. :(
