The Perfectly Wonderful Hodgepodge

Wow, y'all! Joyce has reached the 300 mark! That is amazing! I'm not sure when I came to join in the Hodgepodge but I'm sure glad I did (Ok, I looked back and it seems I started on April 27, 2011...not sure which Hodgepodge that was, though). I've met some of the kindest, sweetest people from this little part of the blogosphere and I'm grateful for each and every friend.

Without further ado, here's this week's Hodgepodge!

From this Side of the Pond

1. What is one area of your life where you're a perfectionist? I like the events I host to be perfect. After all, they're usually in honor of someone else or for gathering a group of friends and I want everything to be just right. Is that a good thing? I think it's good to want things to be carried out to perfection but when it carries over as an expectation that others should do the same, it's not such a good thing. It can also make me over critical of just about everything. It also makes me a control freak when it comes to many, many things.

2. What's something you find perfectly ridiculous? Hahaha! Let's not start THAT discussion.

3. What's a skill you've developed by way of that old fashioned saying, 'practice makes perfect? The only thing I can think of is the creating of the coasters and notecards in the Esty shop. It's taken quite some time of trial and error to get them where I think they need to be.

4. What's your idea of a perfect breakfast? It's not about the food. On the weekends, it's one where I eat in silence all by myself. I enjoy reading while I eat or just sitting in silence, particularly during the first meal of the day. It's my time to mentally prepare. During the week, it's this:

5. What's a trip, holiday, vacation, or day outing you've taken that you'd rate a perfect 10? I have yet to take that trip. Tell us why. Maybe it's back to that perfection thing but no trip, holiday, vacation, or day outing has reached a perfect 10.

6. What quote or saying perfectly sums up your life right now? If you can't do perfect, how about one that comes close?

7. How would you spend $300 today? I suppose I'd put it in my 'cash' drawer and try to save it.

8.  Insert your own random thought here. Don't y'all LOVE the new look on Joyce's blog? I do. I like the freshness of it and the simplicity. The watercolor is soft, peaceful, and inviting. Just lovely!

Come back by tomorrow, y'all. There's going to be another giveaway! WooHoo!

Have a great rest of the week, y'all!

  2. Hope you have a good day, Pam. We lost power in the night and I hope it gets restored today soon! My phone is on data and the battery's draining fast. Love your Coaster Doodles.

    1. That's one thing I can't stand- losing power. They're pretty good about restoring it but, after hurricane Hugo, we went 11 days without it. And it was hot out so my mood was not great. LOL Hope you get it back soon! Thanks!

  3. Oh, I do love the new look on Joyce's blog. That watercolor is a scene I could look at every morning of my life. And I agree with you that no trip, vacation, or whatever has ever reached a perfect 10. Great times, yes, but not perfect.

Thanks for your visit to my blog. Have a great day!

    1. I do love that scene, too. It's so serene. Yep, great times but not perfect is exactly right. :) Have a wonderful Wednesday!

    1. I'm so glad you like the coasters! Joyce was lucky to have a daughter who could update hers. Mine have talents in many areas but revamping a blog isn't one of them. LOL Have a wonderful Wednesday!

  5. Baby M is growing and changing so quickly! I love this week's picture :) And I can understand why you enjoy those quiet weekend breakfasts, 'cause I used to keep twins!

    1. Twins????? Nope. Can't do that. LOL I'm exhausted on the half days so I'm not sure what you call it on the full days. Thankfully, those are only once in a while. I love her but she makes me feel my age. :)

  6. Your little grandgirl is looking less baby and more little girl these days. Such a fun season you're in. We find out the gender of our grandchild this weekend, and I can't wait! I don't know how I went 9 months without knowing when I had my own!

    1. I know and it's both sad and exciting. You're right, it is fun. Except when she falls over because she thinks she can stand up and walk without holding onto a single thing. She's giving me way more gray hairs with this phase. LOL I can't wait to hear what you're having! I hope you'll post it. Or just shoot me an email. :) We find out the gender of grand #2 in two more weeks. When it rains, it pours. LOL

  7. Your new look AND Joyce's new look are both wonderful. I just use stock backgrounds for the change of seasons or my mood. Maybe when I retire I'll have time to delve into making mine something else. I enjoyed your HP today, Pam, and always enjoy seeing the sweet little BabyM's face!!

    1. I'm happy with mine for the most part. Of course, now that it's all said and done I see things I would like to be different. Oh well. I love the watercolor effect on Joyce's new look. Thank you, Terri!
