Meet Me On Monday!

I was especially glad to see Java's 20th edition of her Meet Me On Monday blog hop tonight since I was sitting here not enjoying having an empty nest on Halloween!  Since I can't seem to figure out how to put the whole thing here (linky and all that) just click on the button below (or the one in my side bar) and join in the fun!!!

1.  Have you ever been on a cruise?  Yes.  I went to the Bahamas when I was a junior in college. It was big fun until I discovered that Tequila shots and a swaying ship DO NOT MIX!

2.  What is your favorite way to eat eggs?  I love them the way Hubs prepares them--he calls it 'bird in the nest'...kind of a poached egg in a hole cut in a piece of toast.

3.  What is your favorite reading material?  Hard cover books!  I love the way they feel and the way the pages turn.

4.  Name all the pets that you have ever had?  Mostly dogs.  Two Dachshunds, Duke and Duchess; one Schnauzer, Snoopy; one Dalmation, Cleopatra; one Poodle, Jacques; one Golden Retriever, Buddy; one hamster, Chili Bean; one gold fish, Goldie; one Beagle, Bocephus;  two cats, Kiki and Jazzy; and our current precious one is a Yorkie Poo named Tucker.

5.  Were you ever a girl/boy scout?  Yes.  I was a Brownie and a Girl Scout; my mom was a Girl Scout Leader (for the teenage girls) and all three of my brothers were boy scouts.  But I hated girl scouts because I wanted to be in boy scouts with my brothers-- I thought they had much more fun! (I still think this, especially after two of our girls tried and NOTHING had changed!).

  1. It's amazing how many of us were Brownies/Girl Scouts. And you're right the Boys DO have more fun...I know. I've been a Co-Den Leader for my son as a Cub Scout and an Assistant Scout Master in Boy Scouts. They go on the COOLEST camp-outs. And they get to make Eagle Scout!

I love that you had a dog named Snoopy!

  2. Love you answer about the cruise and the clip art sums it up!!!

  3. I'm so glad you linked up! I loved your answers! Your pets names are so cute!! I laughed at your girl scout answer! lol..

If you need help putting the linky on your post, just email me and I'll help you!

  4. The bird in the nest look yummy. I am a recent empty nester too, so am now a follower and look forward to your future postings.

  5. I'll have to remember to bring some Dramamine when I go on my cruise. Thanks!

I miss the Halloween thing myself now that my boys are too old for it. And I live on a road with no sidewalks or street lights, so we don't get trick or treaters. Saves us a ton of money in candy though.

  6. Following you back. I tried to follow last night, but sometimes these blog buttons just won't work right.

  7. Thanks for vistiting me on my blog today! You are my 100th follower!!!!! Check in again sometime this week, I'm having a giveaway to celebrate 100 blogger friends!

  8. You know I think I have to agree with you about the Girl Scouts! What's up with that anyway???? Nice to know someone else loves dogs too!

  9. Hello, and thanks for visiting me. Be sure and go back to enter the give away...I know how you felt last night...and daughter doesn't even bring the 'grands' by since I moved back two years ago..I did have 12 visitors last night and I enjoyed treating them but it isn't the same, is it.
    Have a great day.

  10. I also love hard cover books. No electronic gadgets for me!

Bocephus? Really? That name just cracks me up.

  11. I love hard cover books as well!

  12. My mom used to make those eggs when we were little. Yummy!

  13. I have so many replies but I cannot figure out how to put that reply thing on my blog. So, for now, thanks so much for your comments! I do read every single one of them and enjoy them. I've gotten welcomed advice, lots of laughs, and new friends and am grateful for all of it! Java, I will email you because I do need help with that!

  14. Hi! Thanks for following my blog "Family Literacy" today. I'm doing a little catch up on my lunch break. Be sure to come back on Saturday/Sundays and add your book reviews to "Read A Book Lately?" my book review & giveaway linky.

  15. Trust me--the empty nest years are the best! Almost like being newlyweds again, but you know each other now, so it's even better!

  16. I bet the birds in the nest are yummy!! Especially with real butter and really thick bread. I'm on a toasted hamburger bun kick. Honeybunny thinks I'm nuts but he's made them for me for the last three dinners!!

  17. I think your blog is so cute! I'm your newest follower! Birds in the nest = DELICIOUS! Especially when they yolk is still runny. Thanks for hopping by my blog, and come check out my meme's I run on Tuesdays and Thursdays. They're a lot of fun! :)

  18. I didn't get to participate this week but hope to next Monday and I will answers these too!
    Loved reading your answers.

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment! It makes me feel connected to everyone even though we may live far apart! Have a wonderful day!
